Landrover brake questions but not for a landrover

Land Rover calipers are heavy compared to the alloy 4 pots fitted to modern cars, I would look on the bay for something like Clio sport or Scooby 4 pots.

Series 1 Poll: Which 3 of these 13 Land Rover Series would you take home?

I'm no rivet counter, I restored a 1948 back in the 80's so know about early series 1. At a guess I would say your motor is early 1960's. The head lights should be in the middle with a metal grill, the wings look like series 3. The top door hinges are series 3 and the wheels are LWB. I like the...

Don't redrill the bellhousing they are like hens teeth, just get a 4 cyl one and swop it, it only takes about an hour once the engine is out

Series 1 Poll: Which 3 of these 13 Land Rover Series would you take home?

That 80" is a very early one, it has had the front springs altered to wide springs and the shackels moved to the rear, also a fully floating back axle. I like no. 1 stick some FC rims on it and it would do me.

Well the radiator is all piped up and bolted in. The fans are wired and working, I put a temp switch in to work the fan relay and an override switch. The fuel pumps are wired up, the tank breather has a roll over valve and a filter fitted. the fuel pressure reg is piped up and mounted. The...

It probably looks better in the pic than it is, I am happy with it though. I was at our bank holiday club weekend event yesterday and the Comp course looked amazing as did the trial, lots of families camped out and barbies on the go. I can't wait now.

The dog is a world famous stud dog (Alport Hurricane) he has done 2 tours of France doing stud work at 1000 euros a pop so it is only fair we look after him and he is my buddy. As for the motor,The tunnel is composite and the engine cover is alloy, the bit around the exhaust manifolds is steel I...

Need some advice from those that know.

Mechanically they are much the same, over a long distance the Disco is more comfortable but by the time you have gone through a disco 1 and sorted out all the issues to make a reliable long distance tow motor you might do better to look at Disco 3

    ALRC Project

About time I updated this thread. Well I have been doing lots of small finishing jobs, so not much to show really. All the coolant hoses are on, the oil cooler pipes are made and fitted, Pas pipes are made and fitted though I don't like the return pipe so will get another one made. the props are...

Big mystery...one for the Big Brains!

Ok, I would do a volt drop test on the earth, I think the Cig lighter may be the easiest. You will need a multi meter connect the black lead to a good earth then next time the fault happens switch the meter on to volts and touch the red lead onto the cig lighter outer which is the ground side...

    Killajoules Series 80" upgrade project

One way to bleed twin leading shoe brakes is to take the back plates off and turn them upside down so the bleed nipple is at the top, I have spent many a hour trying to get series brakes bled, it can take a while especially the ones on 1/4" pipe.

    Serpentine belt tdci

Make a drawing of the belt route before removing it, you will need to remove the tensioner to get the belt off and on, but it is a straight forward job.

    SELF LEVELLING LIGHT CAME ON

Your not having much luck. Could it be your ACE fluid is leaking on the floor at the rear of the vehicle, check the level under the bonnet, if it is low check the pipes at the rear.
