Rear sideways facing bench seats not long enough

Guys, maybe someone can give me relevant advice. The trunk bench seats are not long enough and look a little funny (as if not intended for this application). Are there any better options of such benches? At the moment I'm looking at these...

Painting the rock sliders the colour of the truck

Guys, I need to install a pair of rock sliders to prevent people denting the doors of my 90 with their doors all the time.. The paint of my truck has still got a nice deep metallic shine to it, not sure if that comes through on the photo: I don't want to spoil the look, so was considering...

EGR blanking on late TD5: couldn't remove pipe from cooler to exhaust manifold

We actually had to weld the screws to get them out.. but it's totally worth it considering the possible risks of keeping the thin aluminium pipe on..

    Defender door hinges?

Does anyone have experience with these? https://www.sp-4x4.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=SP1001SS&CartID=1 Do you think the paint on these will last at least 3-4 years?

TD5 EGR blanking effect on performance - I feel it

Risking to overload this forum with my topics on EGR blanking, I would still like to say that after having it done, I can feel the car revs higher. Also having installed a straight through exhaust pipe, much less black smoke is coming out of the exhaust (the carbon deposits in the muffler were...

    Defender 90 Suspension Question

I am planning on replacing the springs as well and was considering going for these: http://www.paddockspares.com/nrc9446-90in-driver-side-front-coil-spring-normal-duty.html (NRC9446/7/8/9 for the set). Another question is, did the previous owner do some other components like castor corrected...

EGR blanking on late TD5: couldn't remove pipe from cooler to exhaust manifold

Scooby22, thanks for the advice. I live in Estonia and here the MOT people rarely look under the bonnet. Even less likely for them to know the look of a standard TD5 layup, so I'll take my chances. We will know next May, if everything goes OK :)

EGR blanking on late TD5: couldn't remove pipe from cooler to exhaust manifold

dag019, thanks for the tip. I'll check which bolts I've got with the blanking kit. Will keep your advice in mind :)

EGR blanking on late TD5: couldn't remove pipe from cooler to exhaust manifold

Oh, bankz5152 - that's exactly what I was afraid of :| I will ask my mechanic to get on it. Will soak the bolts and hope they will come of in a couple of days. Thanks everyone for your replies!!!

EGR blanking on late TD5: couldn't remove pipe from cooler to exhaust manifold

Guys, this topic again. Can anyone explain the logic: is it dangerous or bad for the engine to having blanked only the exhaust gas cooler to inlet manifold. The bolts in the exhaust manifold were so corroded that we didn't want to screw with those (see photo): Does this create any kind of...

TD5 new fuel pump won't fire; relay fine

Guys, just a short update: the fuel pump was fine, it was a cut wire after the relay, so we found out only after installing the new pump. Should have taken the pump off and checked the wires/connector on the pump, but I ordered a new one before taking the old one off.

Answering my own question: the problem was with a cut wire under the seat. :)

TD5 new fuel pump won't fire; relay fine

Hi, guys, we replaced the faulty (as seemed at the time) fuel pump with a new Siemens one, the relay is fine, but it won't make any noise at ignition. Are there any usualsuspects for this situation? Does it most likely mean the cables are causing it? It's a 2006 TD5 90.

Inlet manifold cleaning - is it worth it?

Neilly, You are right about the cooler - only late TD5s have them, and even those late ones have exceptions (non-Europe?), but I still think that for the price they could have included two small SS plates with some screws and gaskets. It probably costs close to nothing, but is an inconvenience...

Inlet manifold cleaning - is it worth it?

Guys, need some clarity on the following issue: Do I need to get the ECU reprogrammed after the EGR deletion? I have a 2006 TD5. Most people say no, but people who work on LRs say yes. I can't figure it out if they are simply trying to get easy 200 euros or this is needed to get the ECU working...

    Rattle after lift

Sorry, can't contribute with anything, but a very interesting case. I'm currently contemplating buying a new suspension kit. Really lean towards a 2 inch lift, but posts like this bring me back to earth.. Hope people here will come up with some relevant suggestions for Your problem!!

Inlet manifold cleaning - is it worth it?

Sad to hear that You didn't pass, but glad it wasn't because of the emissions. The mechanic who works on my Defender suggested to install the blanking plates in between the hoses, so it won't be visible, but as the MOT guys have never looked under the bonnet, I'm gonna go for the removal, though...

James, thanks for the encouragement :) Marmaduke, did they fail the Disco on the CO composition or just noticed the physical absence of the EGR unit?

Inlet manifold cleaning - is it worth it?

The age old question: does it make sense to take off and clean the manifold while doing the EGR delete job? I was set on it until I saw this thread: https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/cleaning-inlet-manifold.304992/ The large photo here makes me think the whole idea is not very smart: 1) if...
