Agree on the Double S quality. Mines been on about 5 yrs and I went stainless as I drive a lot across a beach and standard exhausts lasted less than a year. The flanges in particular on the Double S are ****e & mines corroded through where the down pipe joins the mid section.

Just a word of caution. When we bought our Defender new in 1992 from a main dealer we had issues with paint flaking off air vents below windscreen. Despite the vehicle only being a few months old they couldn’t match the paint with the paint code!

Best security device on these is leave everything in neutral - main gear box, low / high ratio, overdrive. Your average tea leaf won’t be able to fathom out why it won’t move! If i5s not already fitted consider electronic distributor to replace the original with points!

Your lightweight looks great! I’ve got a series 3 lightweight from 1976. Fitted Dakar Insa Turbos 7.5 16’s to mine ascroad noise from the cheap Chinese tyres it came to me with was awful. Also fitted a fairley overdrive which helps as well

Thanks all. I’ll give it another look. The gap between edge of door & B post is the same for its full length so not sure if moving top hinge will cure anything. It’s almost as if the B post needs moving but then it’ll affect rear door.

If I move the striker inboard anymoreI can’t shut the door. The seals are genuine Landrover ones. All other doors are fine. If I remove door seals I can get shut line perfect

No, I left the original filters in place but two were boren anyway hence why I bought green ones. They're pretty bright when you first test them for polarity (before inserting into instruments) but once in the instruments they are ok. You only have to look at how dim the orignals are!
