    why hippo

The real reason, and I got this from the CEO of Landrover, following the original launch, was the many hip hip hip Hoorays the Freelander got when first rolled out. This sound from the motoring fraternity was wrongly interpreted by members of a delegation of the Japanese press, who always cut...

Thought you were writing a chapter from the only work of literature of any worth from over there, Tom Sawyer then you lost it somehow. Never mind, to be expected from a member of one of our former colonies who still never manage to spell colour, realise, and tyres correctly but, a valiant...

Hello and many thanks. We are in the Limousin, moved over here about seven years ago. Hope to drop in someday, We often pass through with the motorhome. We were in Sarlat a couple of weeks ago. Not worried about the Gaylander tag. Ironically a recent study from Oxford university found that the...

Hello. Been a club member for about two weeks now! Freelander Td4 HSE. Moved to South West France about 7 years ago. I have owned a series 2 and a Defender in the past. Christine, the lady wife, always liked the look of the Freelander. So, almost anniversary time, I thought I would surprise her...

Which is a good replacement radio for the Mk1. Totally unimpressed with the factory fitted version. Thanks.

    New owner with Pics

Hi. Small world. Just joined too with an 05 Freelander HSE Td4 same colour and we live in the Limousin, not far from the Dordogne. Like the beagle in the back and but not for the Gaylander comment from another welcoming member. Turns out that the vehicle most likely to be driven by a gay...

    Sat nav

Seems they don't stock this particular disk. They offered for the mark 2, then asked for a photo of the system, then not heard. Will remember that though when needing an update for my Chrysler sat nav.

Freelander - everything you need to know.

What a comprehensive knowledge and useful post. Great stuff! QUOTE=The Mad Hat Man;409760]Bodywork & Interior Can the later model (post 2000my) folding door mirrors be fitted to earlier model Freelanders? It is quite easy to fit the later mirrors and when finished looks...

    Continental Headlights

Answer. There are plenty available for the earlier and later models but the 2004 to model change in 2007 are as rare as the proverbial rocking horse s..t. Be had to bite the bullet and pay £482 for a pair plus postage! Such is life!

    Sat nav

I know the sat nav in my HSE is not going to match a present day Garmin, but I would like it to be in serviceable order. No disk, or disks, came with the vehicle. I guess they have not updated the maps for years but if anyone has, or knows where to get it/them from, it would be good. I've seen...
