    P38A 2001 THOR V8 INJECTOR PROBLEM

The injector wires will both terminate at the ecu but I'm really not familiar with the Thor system. Perhaps take it to your lpg guy.

    P38A 2001 THOR V8 INJECTOR PROBLEM

P0265 seems to mean that injector circuit is drawing to much current which to me suggests a short if there's no issue with the injectors. Your trials with the injectors may be the key to this as it seems like it's been messed around with leading to potential problems due to dodgy insulation.

    P38A 2001 THOR V8 INJECTOR PROBLEM

One of the petrol injector wires are cut and this goes to the lpg ecu then another wire goes back to the other side and on to the petrol injector. This cuts the petrol injectors and allows them to work again. Often these are very badly soldered and you could check those connections. Continuity...

L322 Pulling V8 out of L322 on the drive at home....

Anyone actually done this and lived to tell(even without photos!) Did the engine work first time. What job we're you doing to warrant such drastic surgery? Is it possible to rebuild an engine from one of these? Like bearings crank grind etc?

Which Range Rover will become a future classic?

P38 are a classic. They aren't modern in any sense really. They are out of time. That v8 in any car would be a classic(even when it was new).gems was the last hurrah of the all British(not really!) Range Rover. Value doesn't enter into it really. It wasn't even intentional it just happened Rover...

    P38A Up coming Classic.

If it's your only car(good forbid) i agree. But for anything else the v8 mate. 24mpg is still thirsty. My gems does 17. Always 4.6 though. 4 l is the worst of both.( Plenty disagree!) My bro has been driving mine occasionally( cambelt went on his focus 1.8tdci) at first he was like a fish out of...

    P38A Got's me some ticking....

Don't really have any experience with the dreaded slipped liner. Mine was ( poorly )top hatted when i i brought it. Your really left with a puzzler. Min work means keep peeling back the layers until something shows. Liner would be new engine/top hat plus rebuild. Not to many possibles at this...

no petrol to plugs 1996 4.6 gems.

I'll try and find the startup sequence i ihink it was in a post by 8in avee on a forum. But i don't imagine any sensor will be to blame if it starts up perfectly on easy start. Gradually take all the sensors out and see if anything's obviously wrong.ie crank sensors can be affected if the plate...

no petrol to plugs 1996 4.6 gems.

Are you saying after the easystart it just fires and runs ok? Or it tries to start? Are these gems engines? Pretty frustrating by the sound of it. Gems engines are usually really quick starters. I would start by trying all the sensors used for start up. Crank cam temp fuel temp gems has a set...

Evoque Why the fcuk Does this exist..

As to the freelander 2 being a good car rear diff failure is so common when one popped up on Gumtree i could find the right price by going on sold items on eBay for an exactly identical faulty vehicle! Why not just get them fixed ffs. Jb

Sounds like a good staged response to me. Big jobs breaking out there mate. The advantage of one day a week is you can get all the bits wait for them to come during the week then fit them at the weekend.. rinse and repeat. I felt i was successful because i could properly clean everything with...

    P38A Got's me some ticking....

That sounds very similar to mine when a big end had gone. I got slight dejavu! Mine didn't knock much when cold. When its so integral as a big end the noise seems to come from everywhere. The knock was actually the piston being forced down on the power stroke. Check it by taking the sump off and...

    P38A Got's me some ticking....

It definitely seems in time with that reddish rocker to me. Oil pressures a bitch on these and i think the pumps are worn at higher miles. The pumps are still available via britpart and not to pricey( relatively speaking) Jb

    P38A Help needed.

Duncan just to say don't stress about it it's only a motor. Get rid ( or not) don't matter just not worth the mother. It was a problem of a similar stature to yours that first welded me to this forum. I only had a few despondent days. Anyway after 3 ecus i i sussed it. It could easily have not...

P38A Upgrading front airbags with arnott gen 3 ... ? Anybody done this

And this was fitted to all d2s or just top of the line? I guess it wasn't fitted because the l322 was already in the barrel why spend on a dead duck. As always these things need some pre testing to iron out major issues.

P38A Upgrading front airbags with arnott gen 3 ... ? Anybody done this

As a p38 bod can anyone explain ace. No idea what it is. I think mine handles ok but it's easy to get in trouble with a few mods, a big v8 , and everything running right.
