Cheers mate, appreciate that. Are you running an alternator or on the dynamo? I can try and send them a message for you, it may not make any difference but worth a shot.

Now then! Yes, it turned up yesterday. It looks spot on. I haven’t had it up against any diagrams yet but the general quality looks really good. Very pleased. Been some action over the last couple of days, again, next to no photos. But this is how she’s sitting It’s got an odd sized tyre on...

Your right Scott. The eyeballs are the best tools for this job. It’s once I realised that, I actually started welding some new metal in!

Just work to the rear tub and your measurements and you’ll be fine. I used a string line tied somewhere to the back of the Landy, then pulled it taught along the top of the curve (that runs the length) of the rear tub. This really helped getting the hight of the new pillar.

Now then lads, all looking good. Rob, I found I had the same problems. I think the sh*tpart pillar hinge holes are out. Hence why I was doing so much head scratching before I got started on it. I ended up enlarging the top hinge holes with the die grinder to aid fitment. It’s amazing what 1-2mm...

A bit more chipped off today. Swivel housings stripped down, cleaned and painted. Ready to reassemble with new bits! One of the new balls with the bearing race in. I don’t have a press at home, so I popped the bearing race and bush in the freezer and warmed the ball up over the hob while...

I’m just glad I’ve got the Landy to tinker with! I’d be climbing the walls otherwise.

Marmaduke, the day after you ordered your loom I had a response from autosparks on Facebook. They are closed but had a loom in stock so didn’t mind posting it out. If you’re not happy with yours it’s an option Maybe we should compare them? It would be interesting. ordered lots of bits from...

I’ve just been cleaning the swivel housings and associated bits with the pressure washer. I’ll give them some paint tomorrow. whoops!! I’ll be sure to have the parts catalogue next to me as I’m putting them back together. I can see that could happen quite easily. Henry, get yourself one...

New balls Steve. The other side is terrible. Be a waste of a good seal putting those balls back in. :D

Cheers!! Sharing stuff on here makes me get on with it a bit quicker. Nice to hear words of encouragement. The chassis is a real investment. I’m going to buy a galvanised bulkhead in the next year or so. But for now, I’m happy!

Seam sealed the bulkhead today and gave it a bit of paint. Took me a moment or two to find the technique to seam sealer. And a spot of paint. It needs another coat, but satisfying to see it a uniform (ish) colour. That’s all for the day. I’m getting a cold shower!

Marmaduke, looking good! I managed to order a wiring loom yesterday. Along with a brake rebuild kit, new shackles and pins, wheel bearings, oil seals etc etc. So the next week or two should be pretty exciting.

A bit more bulkhead progress today. Enjoyed doing another little bit of panel fab, I’ll share below for those interested. Someone had bodged the clutch slave cylinder bracket. Put a later slave cylinder, and cut a hole in the bulkhead/transmission tunnel to accommodate it all. Little patch...
