So during the recent heavy rain when the trains to gatwick and the M23 were closed I shoe horned the family into the defender and ploughed through flooded backroads to gatwick... Defender saved the day... ish
On the way we hit lots of water, some deeper than I thought and sent spray way over...
This is the lead crystal one I saw

From what I could gather, and again this is from the internet so caveated as usual:
1) the cheapo halfords one is not a like for like comparison, as if you start actually using those...
yep, see video, straight(ish) swap - apart from some posts and a shim I made with copper pipe as I did not want to take the connectors off, but tbh I should have just taken the old connectors off and wired straight had I known it would be such a good result 10,000 miles later
A quick google search shows me lead crystal batteries in £ so assume they are for the UK??? They are all however more expensive than what I paid for lithium.
I am not sure the lifetime to recoup investment is true any more; I was going to get an optima battery that cost above £200, has 60-70ah...
It depends on the BMS in the battery or one you want to add, I checked with Powerlite before buying (their principal business seems to be making / refurbing alternators for classic cars so it was in their interest to sell me another alternator if they were like most of the automotive industry)...
... only I don't say I bought it to be Eco friendly... the post right above this says:
"the main advantage I see is that without the fumes from lead acid, you can seal up the battery box holes, which together with dynamat have made the cabin much quieter, but most importantly I could clean 20...
possible, but what I am thinking is that as the suspension sagged, the wheels were re-alligned or even a new rod put in while sagged to compensate... so then along comes wonder bra and...
Given battery replacement time of year is coming again, and how difficult it was for me to get info on this last year when my battery started failing, I wanted to update.
I started with a powerlite ps-20, 20ah but importantly 570cca battery which worked well but the drain from my trackers, etc...
ahh, has not been lifted, however just realised you are right, as put new springs and dampers with no lift, but the old ones were saggy and so effect was a slight lift! thanks a million was driving me nuts why tracking seemed different!
Sadly I know this is beyond me, and supsect the ones in the panhard need replacing as well, and sadly it seems its cheaper easier to get a new rod than the tools required to fix (bearing press) ... on that note, it is easier / cheaper to get a new ball joint / arm as well?
Hi All,
Found out this weekend that a friend's TD5 has been sat idle for ages as his local garage in spain have charged him the best part of a grand and still not fixed it: they think its the ECU but not sure??
It basically will not start, the light is on for the alarm, so that has not been...

Selling the spare I had on my landy when it came, believe it is a discovery? wheel but it came on my defender with freestyle alloys and it took me a few months to know it was different.
There is plenty of tread but tyre a bit tired for general use IMO.
