    Happy Birthday Jo (the 90)

I put the 1:2 in because it seem to have a 1:6 one in which seems very odd. I think the 1:4 would be a better option its a bit long in 1st. I think he is likely to be ok for next year. I'll see how work goes, this is a caviat on anything I do now that I'm self employed. I'll get a picktue of...

    200TDI Coolent Flush

Hi All, I'm going to run some ceramic block sealent into my 200TDI, is has a slightly porous block. Just wondered what is the best way to remove 100% of the antifreeze in the system. I was thinking of removing the bottom hoses drain, stick a hose in the top of the filler and turn on, keep...

    Morocco Easter 2018

Hi Mike, Ok, the dates work for me, I'll check with Rachel to see if she wants to come, I don't think she will. I'll plan for going, but I will not be going into hot deep desert or up high mountains unless I get my porous block sorted. Chris

    Clunking defender 90 axle swap?

Mine has some play in it, at very low speeds in traffic it sounds like yours when I slow and then move on, clunk. I got under it and twisted and played around with it but concluded there is some play anyway. However, when my rear diff started to play up it got very noisy so it was obvious...

    Morocco Easter 2018

Hi, From memory you will need to do about 1,300 miles from the uk and back, 2,600 miles at the cost of fuel. Then depending on the cost of the fuel in Morocco again its just a miles/cost calculation. I think out ferry was about 200euro's Insurance was about 90euro's Then you can either wild...

Weird noise after head gasket change.

Sounds like a bag of nuts like mine, so it must be ok. I know this does not help, but I was paranoid about mine but after the 30k miles I've added to the old boy since I got him he is still going along just fine with the whistles and grumbles it makes and 30+mpg.

What has happen to the adventurism with Defender owners.

I agree Mike, people should go. As for a Disco 3, all Dicso's etc are ok as long as they do not break down. For non 200-300tdi vehicles its going to get a little tricker to get spares out there. But then again the cars are a lot more modern. I re-watched the video, I forgot how much fun that...

What has happen to the adventurism with Defender owners.

Well Rachel has agreed I can bugger off on my own again next year, so I'll be doing something, but I was thinking Russia on a Honda 90 or something bonkers.... But I can always drive aroudnd Europe thats easy. Mike, I spend less that £2k, £3.5 was it all the food you had?

Temperature Gauge only works over 70mph!

Ok, drive it about normally and see if you get any heat out of the blower, if you do not and you get only a slight amount when your doing 70 in my experience its the thermostat. Mine never went over the 1st white bar on the temp gauge until I was going about 65-70mph then it would go up a...

    Electric heater

Hi Mike, I replaced all the foam in the heater box etc. but what made the difference was the thermostat. Now, it does need a 4 mile run at 60mph to warm up and if I'm just doing 30-40mph local it does not really get very warm. But at 60mph when it gets up to temperature its warm now...

Which budget, but decent, LED lights?

This is a little deja vu. I fitted LED lamps a little while ago and some spots and they are great. Lets see what happends next year at the MOT.

Coolant system pressurised after overheating. 300tdi.

My guess would be if your lucky a head gasket, if not then you have done the head. I'd do the gasket and get it checked as well at the same time.
