L322 4.2 Supercharged - What to look out for.

Hi bigray, I agree with all the above, especially the advice to check everything works. Everything on an L322 will be expensive to replace even doing the work yourself parts can command a high price at the breakers yard too. Be warned the SC 400hp is an addictive machine, I’m on my second and...

    L322 Ignition Switch Cost Saving

Excellent job, we all know these parts are out there in BMW world but finding the part numbers is the battle. Well done. Tricky :)

L322 sagging overnight only when its on normal height

Been there got the tee shirt. I’ve had the same issue twice on different cars. Literally a pin hole that is closed in nearly all situations and then without any reasoning down it goes. Soapy water on all settings. Good luck. Tricky :)

    Knee Light Bulb Replacement

Hi, thought I had remembered seeing something on YouTube and here it is. I’ll take this opportunity to state that I have no affiliation to the company in the video but about half way through they show the “Knee Lamp” you asked about. Cheers Tricky :)

Central Locking and Power Steering issue

I totally agree, check those earth points because once the sun starts to become less visible you’ll loose battery voltage very quickly. I had all kinds of locking issues as well as a dashboard like Blackpool Illuminations all for one earth strap. Tricky :)

Back in L322 ownership with a 2010 Autobiography

Hi you can find them at all good car accessory stores lol. They soak up any moisture and then you microwave them to reuse them. Tricky :)

You need 12V+ before it comes off the charger and running 13-14V. Seriously, you’ll have all kinds of issues if the battery is low on an L322. Also make sure there’s no damp anywhere near the fuses and control modules (that’s everyware basically) LR have them hidden all over the damn vehicle. I...

    AIR CON SENSOR

Hi just read through the posts and can confirm that if any element of the system is not correct the compressor pulls clutch will not engage. Having had the same issue with two cars recently, one was the clutch itself that had gone bad and therefore the system would not work. The other was a very...

    Check engine light

Hi @Voguetrader did you manage to identify the source of your Engine Light warning? I know how frustrating it can be to have a car running great but a warning light on every time you start it up. Would be good feedback for future searches, as I’m sure there will be. Cheers Tricky :)

Hi @markieboy123 welcome to the Range Rover fold. Nice clean looking ride, hopefully all the mechanicals are in as good condition. Personally I’d let the electronics settle down for a few weeks before chasing ghosts. As for the CD changer, it may be that it’s not had much use and a few attempts...

    Check engine light

Morning @Voguetrader you mentioned “on kick down”, mine has done this in the past and after a few days driving normally while waiting for a chance to get it checked the light went off. So I didn’t bother with it again. When I got some other work done they looked at codes and said a misfire was...

Bought a cheap L322 Supercharged with issues

Looks good but if it’s been washed you should take a look in the boot tyre well to make sure the air compressor isn’t swimming like mine was every time it was jet washed. Trust your 220 mile journey went well, plenty of time for any potential water ingress to puddle in the boot or front carpets...

Bought a cheap L322 Supercharged with issues

Hi Great looking SC and ditto, check that battery for full charge before doing anything else. The low voltage will light everything up and trigger a whole bunch of messages. If they’re still on with a full charge do the battery disconnect sequence it worked for me. Tricky :)

L322 Is it a good idea?

Welcome to LZ hopefully you will find a good one but take the above advice, look at several and check everything works as small fixes can have expensive price tags. Allow plenty of time for viewing and test drives these are big cars with many features. My personal “Rule of thumb” is “if it...
