    Disco 2 2" lift Disco Td5

Will need shocks, it's up to you if you want springs or spring spacers (spacers will probably be cheaper) If they need doing, then you might as well get new ones while doing the lift. Might be worth getting new front spring relocates and the rubber rings (can't remember the proper name) for...

    Disco 2 2" lift Disco Td5

I agree, was tempted to get them, but didn't like the price (being a tight b4st4rd that I am, lol)

    Disco 2 2" lift Disco Td5

Depends how much you want to spend, I would stay away from Terrafirma though as they tend to rust quick and the bushes wear out quick (so I've read). I went for old man emu shocks (got them from flatdog as they were the cheapest place). My disco was converted to springs before I bought it so I...

    Side vents

Might want to repost this in the freelander section, someone who knows about freelanders will more likely see it and help. Do you have a spare key? if so, see if that works to cancel out key problems

Are all the doors shut properly? Including the bonnet

    ATF change… or not?

Should be fine to change it then, as its the governor that gets clogged up

Hi welcome to the forum, think you have to copy and paste or drag and drop if you are using a computer. I use my mobile and have to use the imgur app

    ATF change… or not?

Found this on the ashcroft website, was exactly what mine did (press the FAQ then scroll down the page). Think if the filter/oil is changed every year you likely won't have this issue as the crap won't get through the filter to the governor. Don't know if the later boxes are any different...

    ATF change… or not?

My 90 had a 4hp22 from a rr classic, cooler pipe split which meant I had to put in new fluid. Since then like you said, I had problems with it sticking in first gear until the fluid warmed up then it was fine. If I left the engine running for 5 minutes the g/box fluid warmed up a bit to make it...

New member, advice needed on first land rover

Agree with Stanleysteamer about the tyres, too big will make it feel like the engine is underpowered. You can tweek the fuel pump to give it more fuel (lots of info on this site about this) and get a larger intercooler but depends how much money you want to throw at it. I removed the arb's on my...

New member, advice needed on first land rover

Hi welcome to the forum. Whichever one you chose, try to get one with good service history. 200/300 tdi have pretty much the same power, both are easy to work on. You might want to do your homework on spares availability from where you live now them engines are getting a old now. Td5 will need...

    Disco 2 Transmission fluid leak

The transfer box is basically a separate gearbox from the main gearbox. The fill plug is on the back next to the handbrake drum (the one with the square hole). Think it uses ep80/90 oil, but you might want to check that

    Steve's disco 2 rebuild

So after 3 weeks of waiting, I've now got the wheels back and fitted them. Had a bit of welding to do in the rear wheel arch which is now sorted. Sprayed the arches and the inner edge of the sills with dinitrol 4941. It's all pretty much finished now apart from some small jobs like getting the...

    Fuel Leak, Kink in Pipe.

It is quite common for the fuel line with the green plug end to wear on the chassis (assuming it's a TD5 you have?), which causes a leak like you describe. Apparently can be done without removing the tank. Havnt done it personally so can't advise. Don't think you need to remove the sender/pump...

    Bellhouse Paint or not Paint?

Paint it black, will hide the oil leaks. Oh, and look out you used the jeep word

Where to get a chassis swap?

Try The backyard 4x4, they are based in timsbury/michelmersh next to the brickyard. Not sure if they do chassis swaps but worth a call. Chassis on its own will be around £3000 depending who you get it from, then like others have said, anything else that will need doing while the body is off...
