What is the best Land Rover to be built

Simple answer is there isn't one. everyone has an opinion. For me it would have to be the Range Rover Classic specifically my Plymouth blue 3.9 Vogue manual that fooker would go like stink it regularly saw 100mph. And it and all other RRC are the best looking cars ever ;) and if you are...

    P38A Center diff lock issue

I've owned many Range Rovers and the Late Classics and the P38 are by far the best off road.. My current P38 i've had buried up to the bumpers in **** and its pulled itself out without much issue. Same for the late classics.. My Ancient classics coped OK but were no where near the ones...

L322 Comfort for the taller drivers.

Ah. So it's entirely possible i'm an idiot SWMBO was right all along! she was saying on the trip back that the seat should of gone lower!!! Mind you she is 6'2 :D She towers above most men and found the car rather comfortable :D

The seat was set quite high and it would only go upwards, looks like it could of gone lower. Could that of been a malfunction in the seat?

It is a tad disappointing TBH. apart from the seats and lack of space they are lovely cars.. :)

Well just back from a test drive in a 2003 4.4. On the face of it she was a good'un however the seats space and comfort has really diminished in the L322 I adjusted the seat all the way back and squeezed myself in. Problem number 1 My left leg is brushing the centre console and my right...

Thanks Saint! I am going to look at a L322 tomorrow or alter today ;) Will report back!! headroom is my only concern. I'm no stranger to leg room issues, my knees used to rub against the bottom of my RRC steering wheel! It was much worse in the manuals lol

Range Rover Class Engine Swap Query

I had an Jeep XJ anniversary model 2.5vm and it was rather quick!! I replaced the HG at 133k that was a record tbh not Many VM's saw over 100k with the original HG's She drove really well up until 189k when a transit wrote her off!! Great engines even though they have a rather tarnished...

Range Rover Class Engine Swap Query

Yes the Bottom end was very beefy Unfortunately the Top end was rather fragile if not maintained!! Or if the HG were done incorrectly. Clogged Rads were a common problem for them if i remember correctly, thats what caused them to run hot and eventually lose the HG or even the heads..

Range Rover Class Engine Swap Query

Yes it's just a low revving Boat engine.] They hated being thrashed! The thing i liked about it was the unending torque from low down. Mind you it ran out at around 2800rpm ;) Made an excellent tow car my RRC with the VM 2.4 it would pull a 3.3tonne trailer up an incline in 4th and still be...

The VM was and is still a much smoother and quicker. 112hp and 330nm VM 2.4 119hp and 360nm vm 2.5 vs 111hp 264nm 2-300 tdi IF the VM is maintained it'll live as long as any 300 or 200tdi When doing the Headgaskets on the VM it's important to re-torque the headbolts after 1000miles no...

L322 Comfort for the taller drivers.

I'm a rather tall chap standing in at 6'8 or 2.08m I've owned all the range rover models up to the P38 and i find them rather cramped. The classics and P38s are/were very tight for my frame, in my younger years squeezing in wasn't an issue however i find that back and neck ache is getting the...

    P38A Need input

When i was looking for P38's i made the mistake of driving a 4.6 first. In comparison the 2.5 is hilariously slow and very thirsty, the car i test drove was averaging 21mpg compared to the 16mpg of an LPG converted v8. I would go as far to say my old diesel classic was faster. A tuning box...

So What's the cost so far?

You can't buy a range rover and expect it to be cheap to run. Champagne cars demand champagne money to fix. trust me i've had 5 of the bastard things!!

Classic fukin ell we all have regrets.

She was shire blue i believe beautiful colour. I bought her in 2003 with 40k and sold her in 2008 with 77k. If you put into MOT checker websites her last recorded MOT was in 2011 :( The VM was a brilliant engine it pulled well and got 30mpg if driven sensibly, in a way i miss it more than my...
