Well that's irritating. I've bled all my brake fluid through the system and still it feels like crap. I bled the master cylinder at the top. I bled all the brakes for ages. The. Car stops quick sharp but the pedals low and feels pish. Its got a new servo and master cylinder seals...

So the at rev increase in servo assistance was. Red herring. My servo will only hold 5hg. Any more and it bleeds back to 5hg. My vac pumps producing 25hg at idle and 28hg at rev. Removed it. Can't see any damage. It's >5 years old but I'm happy enough with vac pump.and hoses performance...

Rebuilt the master cylinder tonight. First seal in looked like it had had a tough life. Was all worn and rusty. Only 5 years old :) Will have to wait till Friday to bleed. My easibleeds at a mates and I didnt notice.

Just ordered a vac gauge and tester. I suspect I'll end up buying a new vac pump after testing.

reading further into it - if that oring was missing/damaged id have no oil pressure period rather than none at the vac pump. I'm inclined to think i might have carbon deposits or otherwise blocking the shaft to the vanes. Hence when i rev centrifugal force is giving me vac but at idle I'm not...

Check the wires on the back of the starter are nutted down tight. It's not uncommon for those to come loose and this is one of the symptoms......don't ask.how I know :) Check your earth's have not corroded by capillary up their length at either end-another common cause.
