    Meet Noel

Great work. Life does get in the way of the fun stuff doesn't it. Just keep making a bit of progress wherever you can.

    Steve's unexpected Series 3 rebuild.

Still battling away. So much stuff going on! I don't think I did any landy at all for the first 6 months of this year while I did last revision with my lad for his GCSE's. A levels now and i'm still his assistant/proof reader/editor. Also he's doing photography so will occasionally come home on...

Thanks for that. That's interesting as with those flats I think I can only do 12 o'clock or 6 o'clock. I'll have to look closer. Anyway that proves it doesn't need to be at the highest point which is what I had convinced myself it should be.

Help required please. I’ve had memory failure about the filler neck and which way up it goes. Looks like I also forgot to take any pictures when it came apart. It’s got flat bits so can only go one of two ways. But is it breather pipe up or breather pipe down or does it not make any difference...

    S3 bulkhead pillar foot ?

I bought some Britpart ones before I knew any better when I did mine ages ago. I had to chop them about all over the place to make them fit. My landy is a proper old mongrel though so who knows what else was out of line. If they are Britpart maybe send back/get rid and get some from somewhere...

Only time will tell then. Maybe that's what i'll call the landy when it's done, Bubbles.

    Steve's unexpected Series 3 rebuild.

Just tested a bit of my neoprene tape. Seems good. Put it under water and squished it about a bit. No bubbles, repels water and seems come out dry.

Thanks for the warning. I'll go and get a bit and put it in some water to see what happens. Knowing my luck I will have the bubbly type.

Rear tub has been getting some stick.

    Steve's unexpected Series 3 rebuild.

I'm getting properly addicted to neoprene sponge tape. Used some to seal this bit. Hopefully going to keep the water out (or maybe in?) and stop some rattles.

One bit that might be seen as actual progress is the seat box.

The vent holes have been chopped out of the lower dash.

I've gone for solid mount at the front then those home made rubber bush things at the back. Fingers crossed.

The spacers I made up work ok and get the tank below the seat box.

Right then. Where were we? Last update was February so you'd assume it must be back on the road. As if. On the positive side my son did brilliant with his GCSE's but that now means that A level studying begins this Thursday. I've hardly had any Landy time over the Summer but here's what has gone...
