Ive definitely identified this as the intermediate shaft leak, despite the garage thinking differently, they thought it was the output seal and redid it but taking it home, the seal is bone dry but just below the intermediate is soaked. If the garage continue messing me around I’ll do it...

This is the only oil I see and I’ve taken the plate out above the transfer box and removed the gear box gaiter and foam. I can’t see the oil from near the levers as shown in the photo has dropped down, therefore I’m guessing it is the intermediate shaft O ring as suggested due to the oil...

This photo is looking directly up at the the gear levers from underneath.

It appears very wet up near the top part near the levers and is suspect it’s dripping down from there.

Standby just took a photo and it’s quite interesting, I managed to get a light right in there, the cables near the gear levers are very wet

Tried that before. Unfortunately the oil just appears from high up where it can’t be seen and ends up on the lower parts of the transfer box and the bottom bolt.

I’m wondering if it’s worth taking it back to the garage I paid to find the fault or wether to just crack on by myself. It does appear worse now that they’ve changed a few seals and gaskets as well ‍♂️

Yes you’re correct I did get them mixed up (it’s been a while since I topped up and done lots of different oil jobs since then). Back to the original transfer box fault then!

On further inspection this looks like gearbox oil and not the red ATF transfer box stuff. Where could this be coming from? Appears to drip onto the lower bolt of the transfer box.

Hmmm on further inspection this doesn’t appear to be transfer box oil. What could it be as it appears to be coming from the upper area and dropping onto the transfer box. It’s clear gearbox oil.

How easy is the transfer box to get off without removing the gearbox? Can’t find a section on removal in the Haynes manual.

All done with no problem (Apart from bending a universal joint separater on the drag link to drop arm ball joint). Thanks all.
