    Off-piste driving

Must say I agree with this. If the locals see that there are 4x4 drivers who are driving responsibly and are prepared to do their bit to ensure others stick within the law its got to build bridges. Oh and don't go of piste.

6 Reasons why I love my Landy.

No bull**** I was amazed but I know exactly what was in the tank. I put £30 of diesel into an empty tank which equated 22l and in ran out after covering 205 miles. Before I serviced her she was consitantly returning 38mpg. After a thourough service she is now on the nice side of 40mpg, mind I...

6 Reasons why I love my Landy.

    1. I just drove it 205 miles and used 22L of Diesel, that more than 40mpg. :car: 2. My back is one piece as I have nice comfy seats :p 3. I don't have earache cause my discos not noisy. 4. I was not having to drive stupidly slowly and was having no problem keeping up with traffic. Once she is...

    HiDeeHi & Sarah90 Birthday Wales Trip 21st & 22nd June 2014

Just a thought but you are coming down to Strata Florida aren't you? From where I live I would be driving 95 miles to meet at Oswestry. Which considering the route from what I gather is coming in my direction, before going north again, seems a waste of fuel. Could someone be so kind as to send...

    200/300 Tdi difference?

Yep 300 water pump is mounted way too high so it don't take much coolant loss for it to stop circulating. 200TDI uses V belts 300TDI uses serpentine belt.

    HiDeeHi & Sarah90 Birthday Wales Trip 21st & 22nd June 2014

Any of this route passable for a fairly stock Disco? I have got ATs fitted but they are cheap nasty ones apart from that she is a stock 300tdi manual This is close to me as im based just near Lampeter. Im assuming strata florida lane is near strata florida abbey? Having never done any...

Discovery 300 tdi check engine light

Check engine light won't cause a problem abs light illuminated or never illuminateing will fail. It has to come on when first started and then go off again
  12. pauldaf44

Discovery 300 tdi check engine light

I concur just remove the check engine light bulb. It's on because of the pump change and without the car having edc it serves no purpose
  13. pauldaf44

Discovery 300 tdi check engine light

EDC pump is flat topped with no throttle cable. If its been converted to a manual pump at some point then that is likely why the check engine light is on. EDC pump gives more power but IMHO is an utter pain in the backside.

300 tdi OIL LEAK ON TOP OF ENGINE

My guess would have been rocker cover gasket as well but there is another pottential source in that area. 300TDI inlet manifold gaskets like to split and if your turbo isn't at its best it will leak oil from the manifold gasket joint all over the side of the engine

disco 1 boiled over trying to help yellow90

Hopefully my overheating problem is now sorted. Brand new rad in place, new thermostat, given the engine a full service, new rad cap, replaced the plastic bungs with brass ones, and I have a new waterpump that would have gone on if I could have got the pulley bolts to undo. Got to get some irwin...

Maybe but it also made it 3/4 of a tonne heavier and it certainly slowed me down noticeably on the hills.

disco 1 boiled over trying to help yellow90

Thanks decided to go for a new rad rather than 2nd hand for piece of mind and im also going to replace every part of the cooling system that looks even slightly suspect. I really hate cars that overheat with a passion! Im based near Lampeter so will use one of the motor factors that ive got a...

disco 1 boiled over trying to help yellow90

rad caps a good point she was blowing out water through the cap when she boiled but normally cap cam be removed without so much as a hiss. Rad I can't really get my hand in to feel properly but it's definitely not hot all over. Stat is definitely opening can feel coolant flowing in top hose

disco 1 boiled over trying to help yellow90

Mine's the other way around. Front of rad has no fins back looks not brilliant either. Towing home and it didn't misbehave as long as I had the heater on. 35 miles towing a twin axle car transporter with a car on the back temp gauge didn't rise once . I'm pretty sure this confirms either rad or...

disco 1 boiled over trying to help yellow90

Cooling system not pressuring until she actually boils rest of the time she is fine. She also had a new Hg 3 or 4 weeks back. Hopefully that's hasn't gone again but she isn't showing any symptoms bar overheating randomly
