    Freelander Adventurer SOLD

Ooops, thought I'd replied to you comment Grayo, sorry. Thats a nice Freelander you've got there, probably a little out of my price range, as I'd either be looking to sell my Discovery 2 first or do a swap. That said, seeing what people are selling Disco's at these days, I may have more to...

    Disco 2 Air suspension.......

You're in the same boat as me then, my springs were fitted by previous owner. thankfully, I have specialist insurance for modded 4x4's, so yes, they're aware of every mod. Thankfully, with my line of work, I know any kind of change like that, you need to tell your insurance company. You'd be...

    Disco 2 Air suspension.......

In all honesty, I'm not sure which springs were used for the initial swap, but when I bought it, it did still have the rear seats in. I didn't notice much of a difference in ride height once the 'boot' seats were removed, so may be heavy duty springs.

    Urgent help needed

+1, I'm not from the area, but asked an old mate that is, and although he's not a Landy driver, he's had friends that have used this firm, and they recommend them. Not sure what jobs they did mind you.

    Disco 2 Air suspension.......

I have been happy enough with the coil springs, and have never had any issues. I've seen the usual stories on line where people have had the air bags or sensors fail, and whilst it's not so much an issue at home, I wouldn't want any of it failing whilst out with the family with me. From what...

    Disco 2 Air suspension.......

Yeah, I think in the thread or article I read, along with towing, it did mention the seven seats. As it happens, I removed the 6th and 7th seat as I saw it as extra weight I didn't really need. I have been meaning to get it reclassified as a 5 seater. On the off chance the Mrs and i decide to...

    Disco 2 Air suspension.......

Ok, my fellow D2 owners........ When I bought my D2, it had already had the rear air suspension removed and replaced with springs. It's always served me well enough, but having chatted with another chap that also has a D2 and does a little green laning (admittedly, not as much as I'd normally...

    Paying for an organised trip....

I think there's a place for paid trips. I think you have consider a few things. I think you'd need extensive knowledge of the areas you plan on covering, ie, if you have someone wanting to pay for a trip, but they don't want any scratchy lanes as they have a nice new shiny vehicle, I know I'd be...

Hi redshark here new to the forum in need of your expertese.

have a look on the LZ International Rescue. The map shows people's rough location, and a list of what equipment they have. Most the volunteers on there, if they can help, will usually come and help for the cost of their fuel or a few beer tokens.

Hi redshark here new to the forum in need of your expertese.

Best bet, if you don't have a Nanocom yourself, would be to see if there's anyone local to you with a nanocom to come and check for any error codes. Could be one of a number of things, but get it checked first, it'll probably save you spending any more money unnecessarily. Welcome to the forum...

    Anyone in and around Sheffield

It may be worth you and Pappasmurf linking up. Maybe one or both of you sign up to GLASS, you get access to TrailWise 2 which is probably one of the best sources for finding routes. Members also leave comments about condition etc, so well worth the membership fee. Actually.....I'll need to renew...

For Sale Breaking Discovery 2 TD5

If you've not taken any parts off yet, have you tried selling on one of the Facebook Land Rover/Disco 2 pages? They seem to sell for better money there than on ebay. Seems a shame to break a truck that sounds likes it's been loved and maintined to a high standard.

    Freelandeer 2 Badge

Hi, and welcome to LZ. It's probably worth posting in the Freelander section. Plenty of helpful and knowledgeable people on LZ, but you may get better results posting in the model specific area. Out of interest, have you tried looking on ebay? I've a Discovery 2, when I replaced my bonnet, I...

    Cumbria easy first timer

Hi Joe, You're probably best off posting this in the Green Laning section, if you haven't done so already. You're bound to get told at some point, but try not to get off roading and green laning mixed up, there is a big difference (I think there's a pinned thread in the green laning section)...

How much is he asking? I may be interested. Been considering downsizing from my D2 to something that's a little cheaper to run.

    Disco 2 Moving from 18" to 16"

You'd probably not want to go any wider than a 245/70R16 on a 16" rim to be honest, and it wouldn't be an approved size for the rims depending on the actual rim width. 245/70 is a good enough fit to have clearance of bodywork and other vehicle parts without having to do a lift or cut body work...

    Disco 2 Moving from 18" to 16"

Changing all four, you may well notice a difference in ride and handling but it won't be that that much, and it'll be safe, and won't cause any potential issues to other parts. For the record, you could also go for 245/70R16. I changed from the standard 235/70R16 when I decided to fit mud...
