Haven't had the time to do a lot lately but I bought 2 batteries as well, had got fed up with both the battery in the Landy and my car no longer being up to the job.

Got a nice new battery, chose one as big as will fit in the battery tray :cool:

Feel embarrassed for mine today, some people walked past, clearly been here before but not frequently and I actually heard one of them say as they rounded the corner 'shall we see if that Land Rover is still there'. It is.

Yes the OP hasn't mentioned how long they have had it or what they have done to it/had done to it in however long that is. It could be that it was rotten and a previous owner fitted the galv chassis, then found it easier/cheaper to fit a s3 bulkhead than s2a, maybe they ordered the wrong...

So they have both ended - the black one sold and the beige one was ended early 'because there was an error in the listing'. Looking on DVLA both were on SORN, and in neither case does the vehicle colour or fuel type match what it is being sold as now. Also looks like the beige one was...

Having a quick look at the DVLA vehicle check website reveals the interesting fact that the latest V5 was issued today. Also it is untaxed.

I'd say others on here have given good advice. For my 2 penneth if I could afford it I would probably go for a fully restored one provided it really is that and done properly as mentioned above. I loved the 3.5 V8 engine, it really was a joy and I never had any trouble with it, except the oil...

Surely if the tax had been cancelled it would show as untaxed from some recent date, not two years ago. It's possible to have an MOT without tax if its kept on SORN but again if cancelled due to theft the date would be recent, not revert to the last time it was actually taxed?

Sold it about 15 years ago :( Current 109's gearbox sweet except makes a horrible noise in reverse. Will look at that in due course. Brakes were best I've ever experienced in a Series, probably not so good now but again will get sorted eventually.

;);) It was steep, 1st or 2nd gear speed territory, loose surface, single track with a bend at the bottom. I thought if anyone comes round the bend the other way or I can't take the corner when we get there, we're fcuked :eek: It was the first time I'd gone down that particular track so indeed...
