I agree with you Gel, I have the MOT done on my bikes at the same place that does my tyres. All they do is MOT, tyres, bearings, chains and sprockets. If you fail on something they do then they will give you a price, if you fail on anything else you take it away and fix it - even a sidelight bulb!

I'm of no help whatsoever but I know what you mean about bike alarms! The alarm on my Triumph Tiger won't arm/disarm unless you're stood less than 4 feet away yet will happily go off in the middle of the night....
