i have one of them in my zil 131 it works fine untill you get into central london then all the tall buildings block the signal and you lose your speed display but hey the chances of speeding in central london are slim anyway lol

i might tr l might try and lift out the whole wiring loom and use it in its entirety i assume i can un plug all 4 door looms and it wont affect anything running wise, that way i can use the dash/brinicle and have it all working and yes collecting the interior from there would be pretty spendy...

transplanting a V8 lock stock and barrel

it may well come to that , ive just sent off to the states for a rear housing for the autobox so the NP 208 will bolt straight up to it, it has its plus points its still in a 4 ton winibego parked in the yard the body is as rotten as a rotten thing why they make campers/caravans out of balsa...

transplanting a V8 lock stock and barrel

i dont mind a big ass diesel but this P38 fell into my hands cheap and its in my workshop now, its not like its a daily driver so fuel consumption is not that much of a consideration. and im assuming the 4.6 through a auto box will have lots of torque to get things rolling and theres always low...

transplanting a V8 lock stock and barrel

im not fussed whether is injected or carbs as long as it provides propulsion is good with me, the thing that l like with the range rover engine and box is the viscous transferbox, im keen to see how much better its going to be , its not really comparing apples with apples since my present truck...

Hi yes using the autobox and transfer as it comes out of the P38, the tcu is next to investigate how its wired up once im happy with the ecu, i did start off wanting to use a classic 3.9 engine and autobox as its not electronically controlled and would have been easier but the transferbox...

transplanting a V8 lock stock and barrel

i can see the sense in that, i will give it a go if i fail to get it running right i have carbs as a back up, it was cheap as it has been off the road for a couple of years so its a fun project, l also have a 350 chevy waiting in the wings in case this rover proves to be harder than it looks...

i see nothing wrong with carbs i have a 4.6 on su's it works just fine but the world moves on im sure manufactures dident move over to fuel injection because its worse than carbs but if i stay with carbs i learn nothing i did some bedtime reading lastnight and i see the ecu has lots more...
