    P38A Simple EAS query

Thanks for the offer Pete, I am away for a couple of days otherwise I would have taken you up on it. It is not really a major problem just one of those things for the old brain cells. Having said that I am going to be replacing both of the front sensors when it gets warmer so I think that is my...

    P38A Simple EAS query

I did actually look for that a while back when I replaced the bags, it was doing it with the old bags too. I wonder if it is something in the pipe itself, I have checked for kinks but nowt, I guess one day I will replace the line and see if anything changes. It doesnt really affect the operation...

    P38A Simple EAS query

Hi y'all, something has bugged me for ages so I thought I would throw it out there. Because I am an old fart and stiffer than woody in a porn film I always drop the car to access to climb in and out. One thing that bugs the life out of me is when I do it the car drops like a stone on the front...

P38A Unrepairable EAS fault after side steps fitted?

+1 here too, its a waste of time trying to clean the connectors, usually the corrosion has gone back further into the wire

P38A Unrepairable EAS fault after side steps fitted?

Depends on the use, conditions, maintenance etc, mine did 19yrs, I only changed them because I got a set of new ones that someone had taken off a car he was putting on springs. I actually kept 1 front and 1 rear for spares and they are actually still pretty good!!

P38A Unrepairable EAS fault after side steps fitted?

If it is any thing like mine a few years back they lifted the car on a low setting which can cause the rubber to separate from the end cap which would do what you are saying. This is fixable, PIA but you can put the bags back together again. Tearing the bags by lifting is probably not the cause...

This is the usual fault list when the comms are not correct, do you have a good (green) idle ? if not try changing your comm port or as mentioned, the OBD port or the wiring in the kick panel. I would try the comm port first. See upper left on the photo where it shows "Good Idle"

+1 with you Keith, bad comms, when you are using EASUnlock do you get a good idle (green rather than red)

Personally I wouldn't, you will void the warranty for one and as you say, things may go wrong as per Murphy's first law of P38 tinkering ;)

P38A Dunlop EAS Compressor ANR 3731-SLP

I Succumbed and bought a new one! So I currently have 2 rebuilt, 1 on the car, 1 on the bench and now a new one on the way. I have a brand new driver pack, new height sensors (Dunlop) and a fully tested valve block. As soon as it gets warm again I am going to be tinkering again even though the...

The bag can separate from the end cap if it is jacked with the bags hanging at access, ask me how I know.......... If you are at standard height it is usually ok, best to jack under the axle as previously mentioned. I always make sure the car is at standard height nowadays and so far no problemo

P38A Unrepairable EAS fault after side steps fitted?

Just what I was going to say, unless it is an actual garage that works on P38s that is basically what their diagnostics will say because they won't be able to read the P38's EAS stuff. +1 on bypass kit but probably EASUnlock will reset the faults. If it is what happened on mine a few years ago...

    P38A Grubby tail lights

They cannot be separated unfortunately, the one thing to watch is that very often the double ended bolt/screw is very rusty (usually the visible one) the nut usually shears the bolt bit. You can extract the screw in bit and use a self tapper, I bought some spare fixings coz I'm a tad fussy..........
