    1.8 Immobiliser

Disable the immobiliser to replace the ECU. The current ECU has died, and has no communication with any diagnostic tools. I have a spare ECU in the shed, from another MEMS3 Freelander, but it will not work due to different security codes :(

    1.8 Immobiliser

Having issues with a Freelander I bought for the wife. Not given her the car yet, as the ECU is playing up. Have got a spare ECU, but is it possible to disable the immobiliser? I am aware it is coded to each car, and a 2nd hand ECU wont work, as the security codes dont match. Either...

    L-Series Clutch

The car has already had the MLS gasket fitted by the previous owner. I had a spare head set in the shed, as it was always the plan to do it before fitting. No point in doing it twice though. Car was thoroughly tested for overheating on the drive home ;) The 75 rad appears to be around...

    L-Series Clutch

I will be aiming for 200bhp, and 200LbFt (265Nm-ish) Just need to know the clutch will be upto the job before putting it all back together

    L-Series Clutch

Just checked, the L-Series only has 155LbFt? Seems rather low for a turbo diesel... Tell me more about his HD clutch though. The part numbers I get are UQB500010 for the clutch plate, and URB000070 for the cover...

    L-Series Clutch

Needing an uprated clutch for my K series Looking through Microcat earlier today, it would seem that the K + L-Series engines share the same clutch assembly. So, before splashing out on an expensive uprated one, what is the standard clutch rated to? If it's good enough for a fairly...

    Hmmm suspect me thinks...

Unless it is a genuine facelift car, that was bought with a broken head gasket, facelift bits went onto an early car, and pre facelift bits went back onto the newer car, so it was still "complete" for anyone unsuspecting...

    Breaking 2005 Freelander TD4 SE

As per title, breaking to fund another project, involving another Freelander. And the wife is coming off work for a few months due to an operation, so cash will be a bit tight. Car is an 05MY, SE spec, Cairns Blue, Manual. Being an 05MY, it is obviously a facelift model Car has done a...

Cheap De-cat pipes made to order!

At the time of posting, it was correct :) However, my own car passed its MOT in June of this year, with no EGR's and no CAT. The downpipe was removed, and replaced with a straight through pipe. The EGR pipes from the manifold were blanked, and the valves no longer attached to the engine No...

    Disocvery 3 TDV6 Head gasket

Never seen a TDV6 head gasket fail. Have seen a few issues with cracked blocks though... Before going down that route, check the EGR coolers. Will give very similar symptoms to head gasket issues, and are a whole lot cheaper to replace than head gaskets, or an engine...

    DMF or SMF? Can't decide!

£445 for an SMF, Valeo clutch + slave £450 for a DMF, B+B clutch + slave Price difference is irrelevant, looking for personal experience from those that have fitted an SMF kit, ideally. In all reality, the car will probably not be used enough to risk a new DMF wearing out. Have heard...

    Fuel Tank Cradle

Is there a reasonably priced replacement available yet? My local dealer can get one, but at £320... Not too good at the whole fabrication thing. Car is off the road due to no MOT, and the cradle is in 3 pieces
