    Engine ooot...

That's great thanks. The last time I took an automatic gearbox off was when I changed the engine on my 3.0V6 Renault Espace... I knew there was a good reason to keep the TC on the box! I may just use a ratchet strap to keep it tight in to the box. It's all fun and games with these bloody...

    Engine ooot...

Evenin all. As per title the engine is coming out . What's best way to pull it out, with or without the torque converter attached? I'm thinking to unbolt it and if any cracks , replace the flexi drive plate. So can I undo the bolts from the removable circular inspection plate on the bottom of...

    EASy or Not?!

Henry, the short answer is no! But I assure you the engine got new oil (obvs) when it was installed. It did 2k miles then sat for 5yrs before I got it. In the 20k miles of my ownership it has had 4 oil changes. It may look dirty in the photo, but in daylight it is golden. I can only imagine...

The whole feckin car is retarded so knowing my luck ... :D:D

    EASy or Not?!

I have both arch liners off. Kermit, I have heard tales of these manifolds "glowing red hot" while under power such as towing up a hill or spirited driving... A couple of reports of sound deadening material catching light  I can get replacements from Island 4x4, but the outers are £80 and...

    EASy or Not?!

Isn't it just  I "should" have checked compression a long time ago. But you know yourself, if you haven't overheated the engine and its only covered 22k mile , you just don't expect something like this. But every part I replaced seemed to help, for a bit. I think it got much worse just...

    EASy or Not?!

Just for you :p Actually, I sent the pic to my wife and she's not mechanical at all... Hence the circle. ;) Don't take offence :D

    EASy or Not?!

Thought I had replied to this already! Ahh well, here's the culprit... The block and head have faired well enough. Here's the block... There's no gouges or anything. The carbon will clean off. I found a bad thread on the tensioner pulley bracket which holds another idler pulley so I got...

    EASy or Not?!

A footpad is basically a thief. My car sits between the Smart car and the Citroën, so it towers above these. My general opinion is that people see the car and steer clear as it's hard to get into. Low car, walk past break a window lean in... Tall car , look up , can't lean in so keep walking...

    EASy or Not?!

I don't have fancy diagnostics, only Win EAS Unlock... I wonder if that will work? I like to leave the car at height to dissuade footpads and vagabonds from messing. What fun getting a last bolt out of the left bank exhaust manifold o_O Needed the car at height for that. I finally got it...

A false pulse :D Dammit o_O And it doesn't leak... Fortunately

    EASy or Not?!

Is there a way to fool the EAS into "thinking" the engine is running? I've got half the engine apart and had to raise her (I have one way valves that are tee'd into the block) to get the last exhaust manifold bolt out. I can't be arsed undoing the tees each time  So I figured if I...

    Miss Who? Miss fire... still!

The indicators have always been in there. I bought dual led lamps that come on with ignition, but go off when that side indicator is activated. Then, when indicator is cancelled, white light comes back on.

    Miss Who? Miss fire... still!

Latest photo. She's been de-cluttered at the front and new fog lamps installed. Was meant to be taking her to get the "new" (not new) bumper colour coded at the very bottom quarters and a thin line along the bottom lip (above the splitter). Need to do something with the splitter to get rid of...

My car colour is Icelandic Blue mica... Is that what you mean? Yes I will be transferring the plate if I swap cars ;)

Not allowed to fall in love with her again coz the other "her" hates everything about this car

Well, the compression test shows 1 & 3 cylinders are at around 30psi  So I think that rules out cam wear. But it's either burned valves or gasket burned between cylinders... Just great. It "knows" I plan to sell....bastard o_O
