Busy weekend.
Rear panels off, seat boxes out rear tub unbolted ready to lift off, windscreen off, wings off, bonnet off, dash removed, c&b pillars fell off and bulkhead removal in progress.
Aim to have the bulkhead removed by the end of the week.
As I'm in the same place as you re power steering, I'll offer my opinion.
P38 option.
It's been done plenty of times, issues ironed out and there will be plenty here to advise you on how to do it.
Shirl
What a plonker.
I mean why on earth did I think I could do that on my own.
I mean yes, the roof is easy to pick up on your own, but getting it off was a whole different ball game.
A quick phone call saw a willing volunteer arrive in minutes and the roof was off!
Next up was the rear panels...
Got in late so;
Remaining bolts removed this evening.
Gave them a good soak in penetrating oil last night so they didn't put up too much of a fight.
Tomorrow evening, I intend to lift the roof and get the rear stripped off.
Finally finished Noel's temporary 'workshop'.
Removed the doors and safari roof (left sitting in place for the moment), heading removed.
The main roof is just about ready to come off, just 4 bolts temporarily holding it on.
Hopefully this week will see the rest of the rear body come off and...
Yep, a resto will cost you a lot of money.
I originally thought 6k would be enough for Noel. Ive pretty much done that on the chassis and bulkhead alone.
Don't even consider one if you have very limited funds.
South Kent.
I've been out of touch with landrovers for a few years, the spare parts place I used to use no longer exists. Shame as they were very good and supplied bearmach gear.
How long has it been in Norway?
Given the amount of salt on the roads it will be rotten.
I've holidayed in Norway for the last 12 years and any car that is remotely old is rotten.
What about doing a chassis and bulkhead change on a land rover you bought blind having no experience of doing either?
Stupid?
Crazy?
Mad?
Or maybe, just maybe, so passionate about the green oval you just have to do it to get another one back on the road?
My advice to the op is as long as it's...
As the title really, where do you all get your spare parts from and is there an exploded diagram that lists all the correct part numbers?
I'm sorry if this has been asked a thousand times, but we were all new here once.:(
Ps, I do use the search function :D
