Weeelllll Saturday was the big day that I was kinda dreading. Reading so many horror stories of seised bolts and breaking parts. But needed doing and too tight to pay a garage so here we go. Wheels off to see what we are working with. Windy gun made light work of the camber bolt...

Added a bit of interior bling in the way of a Disco 4 hand brake switch Looks much better, unfortunately doesn’t fix this problem Apparently the plug or wires near the rear wheel are often the culprit Couldn’t get in with wheel in the way but going to mates unit Saturday to do...

Well lightened the wallet a bit more this week. Now have new rear upper control arms, hub bushes, nuts, bolts and washers. Along with a set of braided brake lines. Would upload a photo but for some reason the server can’t cope with them at the moment

Ha ha thanks. Been a productive weekend. I’d say the entire job took around 4 hours but could probably do it in 2/2.5 hours if I had to do it again.

Thanks very much mate. I need to give it a wash and get some daylight pictures next. Yes standard on the entire D3 Range unfortunately. This sticker kit at £20 is a hell of a lot cheaper than fitting a D4 front end so will do me for now lol. Thinking possibly adding some halo fog light dlr’s...

Lights back off again so I could finish what I didn’t have time to do yesterday. Fit the led indicators. Which means I need to add a resistor into the wiring First job is to get the crap blocks supplied with the resistors and throw them in the bin! Then get my tools Then needed to find...

So, with the weather turning a bit chilly I didn’t fancy cleaning the car this weekend and instead turned my attention to fitting the headlight tinting kit I bought from Powerfuluk a few weeks back. To start, I’ll need a pair of headlights....... Kinda like the blacked out look Next the...

Yep, haven’t ordered anything yet. Wanna make sure it’s everything I need. Just going on what D3 forum members are saying that it needs replacing. Considering the mileage I will be doing it I think. I don’t have an extractor no, mate thinks we could make something up to do the job. Though I’m...

So want to get these rear suspension bushes sorted out. Not going to faff about so complete upper rear arms will be ordered for both side. Range Rover sport versions seem to be the way to go. My question is what else should I consider doing while I’m at it? Been told it’s well worth...

350mm iirc compared to original 325mm, will eventually be adding V8 brakes to the rear as well however not required just yet. Possibly but for now the suspension struts seem fine so not going to be a major rush to replace. Hopefully the manage another year but we will see. Yes first time round...

Yes plenty to try and figure out. Unsure with the suspension. Sometimes to me it does feel a bit wallowing but it’s a massive 4x4 so might be I’m expecting too much of it as apposed to an actual fault. But also the struts look very rusty indeed. Yes pedals come up a bit now. Once bed in be...

And then the fun ended. Friday night after work driving out the airfield and on pops battery light and no power steering. Limp it back to the yard and get a lift home. Then today after fixing the D3’s brakes we went to get the van from the yard. Yer, tensioner was a bit past it Well your...

Took the van out Thursday night on the hunt for stranded motorists. Didn’t have to go far, the staff car park at work actually. Flat battery, wouldn’t start off jump leads so towed it to the warehouse, disconnected the battery for a minute then it fired right up. Then went out with a few...

Also while the wheels were off had a butchers at the suspension because I heard the airbag have a built date stamped on them. Well that’ll be the original suspension from new on 174,000 miles now. Probably gonna be looking at new airbags this year then money depending.
