    S3 109 Safari project......

I've tried Tig filling but there's too much absorbed junk, but I have found the aluminium repair rods that you use a propane plumbers gas torch to fill holes and do quite good repairs on the aluminium. I've even filled a hole in the gearbox bell housing with them, and the finished result was...

    S3 109 Safari project......

Sorry to hear your loosing your garage. There's nothing to motivate like a deadline 👍 3 months restoring the chassis on my 300 TDI upside down in the wind and the rain, because my garage is too low to get any Landy in, which has me really appreciating working inside or at a better time of the...

That sounds like a job to do 👍 The tools are all untouched for decades by the looks of them, so it may be a good thing to give them a clean up and service thanks

Tow hitch height versus horse box issue (Defender 110 2011)

My caravan on a knott chassis sits level with a towball height of 350mm. So I'm in the process of fitting the adjustable Tow Hitch, and replacing the original lower angle iron supports, since the original ones have become weaker with rust. With the adjustable Tow Hitch drop mount you should get...

    Defender Tow bar comparability

I just so happen to have removed the Original tow assembly from my 1997 300TDI Pick-Up truck Peggy. I have the adjustable drop plate from a series to fit instead of the original tow ball which doesn't stick out far enough for my anti-sway coupling on the caravan. It's also too high for my needs...

    Defender Tow bar comparability

After rebuilding much of the rear chassis legs, for MOT. I'm now sorting the complete towing assembly and remaking the bottom angle iron supports, since they have got too thin.

Chassis repairs and rusty bits on Peggy the ex farmy pick-up

That's still a possibility, I will be revisiting the chassis quite a bit and need to get back to using her as well as continuing round lots of small and medium jobs. Like replacing the fuel filler neck which has a small rust hole and the rubber and seal + lock barrell in cap I think your idea...

That would make repairing the chassis a bit easier lol Here are my favourite bits of paint patina on the car from elbows hanging oot, and legs getting in and oot
