Definitely don’t cover it with chequerplate! The rest of the disco looks in good condition. Chequerplate would look awful on it.

I had a V8 90 CSW and it’s the one Landy I regret selling! As for the sound, don’t try to hide it, enjoy it! A decent exhaust system will help, not a cheap pattern one. And a heavy right foot!😎😎

A new set of standard height springs and shocks will transform the ride. Worth doing whilst the chassis is being replaced. I had a set of poly bushes on my disco and I’m looking at doing the same for my 90, although not everyone agrees.

Get a swing away spare wheel carrier. It keeps the spare on the rear but takes the weight off of the back door.

Best pressure washed in warm weather and rust proofing applied once nice and dry. You can get it yourself and do it or pay one of the companies to do it. There are companies that advertise in the Landy magazines or google. You can use lanoguard, waxoyl or dinitrol. All have their pros and cons...

The chassis on a disco 1 is not usually a rust issue. The worst areas for rust are the sills, front inner wings, rear arches and boot floor. All benefit from regular treatment.👍
