For the love of god someone help me I’m going mad

Weird - doesn't let me upload photos anymore just says "i don't have permission" but its the plug that has a white and a green wire and you can see the bound wire come up from the fuel tank into the engine bay if that makes sense. Will try and upload tomorrow

For the love of god someone help me I’m going mad

Since I look the engine out to do the clutch I cannot for the life of me work out where to plug the fuel gage back into the wiring loom at the back of the bulkhead I’ve looked at wiring diagrams, trial and errored every plug possible but still can’t work it out. Feel like I’m going mad. Could...

    Transfer box failure

@Hector the Bad That is a completely normal situation for a defender if it loses traction and the centre diff isn't locked If it won't selected diff lock - as already said - that's most likely a selector issue. There is a little grub screw that controls the pressure on the ball bearing in the...

    Transfer box failure

@Hector the Bad If the LT230 fails it's most commonly the splines on the input gear or sometimes the centre diff can explode. Both would mean you'd have no drive to any wheels. If one wheel is spinning suggests the box is functioning and as above likely a selector issue. If front wheels were...

    200tdi cylinder head

@Tomjones12 do you have a workshop manual? Also the new gasket commonly has the head bolt order and settings

    Nasty noise

@Dave Nic I doubt if it’s diff lock intermittently engaging I’d start at the wheels and work backwards checking for play in all ball joints and bushes. Also check the transfer box input gear (easy job) for wear on the spines where it mates with the gearbox output shaft

    Wanted 200tdi cylinder head

Had a good look at those. Either cracked or have suspicious description. Plus don’t really believe eBay descriptions when they say ‘untested but came off a working engine’. Have more trust for those on here (probably also a mistake)

    Gear stick rattle

Does that often come loose? Weird it’s only in 3rd

    Gear stick rattle

Gear stick (or selector mechanism) makes a rattling noise only in 3rd gear. Goes away when I hold the gear stick or push it up. Anything come to mind before I take the tunnel off and have a look?

    Which Drop Arm Puller ?

@dogdog1 you don't need a puller they're designed to come off when hit from above. I used an old half shaft and hit from above.

Sounds like I better just hard wire one in.

    Dash cam/reversing cam

@Nodge68 I know that. I’d charge it at home. Mentioned it as a back up in case we were away for a few days. I don’t really want to have to wire it in, although I could, it’s just a pain as I’ve recently tunnelled and tidied up all the aux wiring.

    Dash cam/reversing cam

Read a few threads on this but not quite found what I’m looking for. After a battery powered (don’t really want to hard wire and can recharge from the inverter in the vehicle if needed) and don’t have a fag lighter anymore. Really want a dash cam with reverse cam that can also function as a...

    Suspention

@andyjack One of the best things i did to my defender is remove the 2inch lift, fit standard springs from a puma at the front and heavy load springs (i have a roof tent, roll cage and a load of camping stuff at the back) on the rear with Terrafirma AT shocks front and back - i think the...
