Do you keep a fire extinguisher in your Defender?

Had an engine fire in an "Anglebox", lifted the bonnet at arms length and gave it the whole 5 seconds of a poxy little Simonize extinguisher, it actually worked, put it out just like that, whoosh. I was really impressed, had an extinguisher in every vehicle since......................I even have...

    Bearing Hub Seal Question.

I had the same problem, though it was intermittant, after inspecting all sorts over the course of about 6 months I finally found that the little mud shield part of the rear diff input flange was loose and rubbing on the diff nose.

    Battery refresh?

If we were having this conversation in a few months time, say March or April, I'd say run with it and just keep it charged up. The reality is we are coming into the cold months and the fecker will fail sometime, probably when your heading back from the pub and the car park is empty, it's peeing...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Not today, but just got round to calculating the fuel used on our recent trip back to Blighty. A bit over 2000 Km without any problem, and Buttercup gave us a shade over 34 MPG so right happy with that. I tell a lie, there was one problem. Driving down through France on a near empty dual...

    Salt mine experience...Land Rovers Stashed

Heard this from a chap who lived in the same village as me, he reconned a vehicle would last about 3 months once it was brought topside, the salt was literally everywhere, like parking it in the sea for a week.

    Defender 90 200Tdi LT77 gearbox - No Reverse Gear ! Help !

For your rear wiper, it would be worth taking the wireing out of the mix and just run a temp wire front to back to test the motor. I expect your problem is the shaft running through the door is crusty with rust/old grease gone solid/general crud, use some Plus gas on it for a few days and then...

What have you done on your 90/110/130 today?

Had the 90 out yesterday just to go about a mile into the village, charging light started flickering. Parked up and then drove home, this time charge light nice and bright. Bleedin alternator going tits up, if the belt had snapped it would be full charge light right from go right? Got home and...

What have you done to your Landie today.

You should try changing the oil filter on a 2.4 VM, silly wotsits mounted it upside down, loads of rags, a silicon cooking tray and plastic bags gets most of it - sometimes.:mad::mad:

    Transmission whine

Had the same problem with my RRC, tried the easy option first which was a fluid change right through, G'box/T'box/diffs. I had a look on Ashcroft's site and bought some oil as (sort of ) recommended, surprisingly the noise is gradually getting less and less over the last 5/600 Km.

    LATEST NEWS REGARDING "TOMCAT" ALAN

So sorry to read this. I haven't been in this part of the forum for a while so just read this through from the very start, all the time hoping for the magic words to tell us all that everything is going to be OK. Seems it won't play out the way we all hope for, but while there is a chance then...

What have you done on your 90/110/130 today?

Not today but last Thursday took Norman the 90 for the French equiv' of the MOT. Passed :D:D:D:D:D:D the only advisories were for dents in the bodywork and doors FFS, they are meant to be there, they are honourable battle scars. Norm has had a fair old time playing/working in the woods.

    Heater thoughts?

Can't comment about the 300Tdi's but I have had a 90 200Tdi and Disco 200Tdi for 7 or 8 years together. The Disco gets reasonably warm inside in about 20 minutes if the temps are around freezing, the 90 would take about 3/4 hour.
