May also be worth giving Steve Parker’s a call. They sell a lot of conversion parts and seem to know their stuff.... Rich

    Defeated

Yeah, don’t give up now. Chuck in a second hand engine for now (as already said, get a complete disco so you can see / hear the engine running before you remove it, as well as gaining a few valuable spares from the engine bay. If you have room the axles would be worth keeping too) Once the...

    Misty - fying ??

I too have military door tops and don’t get particularly steamed up. If I do it’s when I first get in. There are more droughts around the sliding glass panels though so that probably helps...... Not that this helps the OP however.

Ex mod Ninety with disco 300tdi £5000 ovno

Not sure I should be doing this or not so I’ll put it out there to gauge interest.... 1987 Ninety ex MOD. I am the first owner since released and have owned her for 3 1/2 years. She originally had a 2.5NA diesel but that got removed in favour of a 300ti from a disco 2 years ago. The engine...

    Hello everyone!

I love your 110! Looks like a nice conversion. My brother in law used to have the same engine in 110 hicap. Proper stump puller but a bit of a plodder! Rich

best jack for a defender 110?

Plenty of good advice above. I’ve also heard that the jack from a Mercedes sprinter van is quite good.... All I really wanted to say is that’s a stunning 110! :)

    poor service acceptable?

^^^^^:D I’m gonna hazard a guess that the issue is with the other ‘addocks’ (the one in Cannock) cuz quite frankly, they are carp! I won’t set foot in there any more and as of Monday, my mate won’t either (long story involving J nuts and brake cylinders). They seem to list everything you could...

Not the thread of the century, but wondering ...

Don’t use bathroom sealant or any other kind of silicon sealant. Better option is sikaflex or tiger seal that can be painted if needed and is just more appropriate in a vehicle. Dunno about the dinitrol stuff as I’ve never used it or even come across it. Don’t worry about the daylight between...

    140,000 miles

It depends on how it’s been looked after and what condition it’s in. Also, what engine is in it? As said above, more info required for a better reply to your question but generally, mileage is one of the lesser concerns...... Rich

Military Tithonus 110 , swapping engine to 300 TDi probs

I used the na flywheel housing to fit my 300 to LT77. Didn’t worry about the flywheel locking pin and had no issues when I did the timing belt without locking the flywheel. I made an engine mount adapter so my chassis remains unchanged. Fabricated an exhaust down pipe from some 2.5” stainless...

    Limiting factor on my articulation?

Longer shocks and or lowered upper shock mounts / turrets would allow the axle to drop further. You need the bottom end of each spring to me retained on the axle and relocation comes or whatever at the top to guide it back home after it dislocates as a result of your extra axle droop.

    Complete doors

Does the OP mean a fully dressed door......with windows, locks etc already assembled and fitted? If so I ain’t seen any ( but I have and enjoy my 2 piece doors with slidey windows) so don’t pay much attention to these new fangled jobbies!!

How far can I go with a major oil leak from timing case?

I tightened mine by putting the truck in gear, handbrake on and just going as tight as I could with a breaker bar. That was 3 years ago. Check it from time to time but it has never loosened off any. Sounds to be a fairly substantial leak you have. Good luck! Hope you get sorted before it...

First land rover disco 1 trayback

For the lean.....has it just sort of developed or has it had the lean since you got it? It could be that the springs have been fitted to the wrong sides (they are handed). Otherwise they may have just sagged with age ( as a lot of aftermarket springs in particular do) 200tdi rear prop and...

Radiator on FFR 110 that's not FFR any more!

Mine (2.5na until I ragged it out!) used to cool rapidly as soon as the vehicle was ticking over when stationary. You’ll be fine with the oil cooler removed but I doubt there will be any real benefit tbh Rich
