    Carlisle p38 suspension reset

I have driven 137 miles on bump stops in one go. On gravel roads and pavement. Up to 60mph on pavement. Car is still quite driveable with some care.

Why can we no longer post photos?

That was on my Samsung phone. I can try the PC later today.

Why can we no longer post photos?

Tried copy and paste. It didn't work. Any other ideas?

Why can we no longer post photos?

Title says it all. If I try to post a photo I get the following error message. This never happened at any time in the past. "You do not have permission to view this page or perform this action.". Please fix this.

    P38A Height sensors

Don't think any of our provinces have mandatory scheduled vehicle inspections anymore. We did have them at one time, mainly to check that pollution controls were working. I remember one time driving to the testing station with my CEL lit up which is an immediate fail. Just when I got to the...

Series 2 Broke the rear diff in 5 door 109

Through my LR club I have been in touch with a fellow on Vancouver Island who says he has a couple if diffs. Just waiting for him to give me a price. Turns out my recently purchased P38 also has a diff problem. Noticeable vibration when driving and when we drained the oil 2 bolt heads drop out...

Series 2 Broke the rear diff in 5 door 109

A Salisbury would be nice if we could get a proper fit. Our axles have 11 splines so I'm not sure this common on Salisbury diffs? Then it has to have the proper width. We will have to see what turns up. Thanks for the suggestion

Series 2 Broke the rear diff in 5 door 109

Well Mike is about 2,000 miles away so will first try to find one locally. Don't understand what you are getting at with the pipe cap?

Series 2 Broke the rear diff in 5 door 109

Well my brother got it out. 4.7 it is. Spider carrier completely shattered. Could maybe still use the main housing but pretty much everything else needs replacing. I have some photos but get an error message when trying to upload them: "You do not have permission to view this page or perform...

    P38A Height sensors

Folks say you can switch them side to side and that puts the wiper on a different, less used, section of track. I doubt there is any way of repairing a worn track that would give you the necessary smooth action.

L322 need some advice about buying L322 4.4 N/A jaguar

2007, 8 and 9 are generally considered to be the best years because of the Ford/Jag engine. I'm surprised certain people don't recommend a horse and buggy as there are absolutely no electronics or electrics

Series 2 Broke the rear diff in 5 door 109

Might be easier to just replace the whole axle. First we need to figure out what gear ratio we have. Does anyone have a table of gear ratios used in these older cars? We can figure it out to some extent by rotating a front wheel and counting drive shaft revolutions. Knowing available ratios...

Series 2 Broke the rear diff in 5 door 109

I had to look it up to confirm it is a Rover diff. Not sure if my brother is going to try and fix it during winter. If he didn't have the second P38 to drive he might as he doesn't like to drive his Mercedes in winter unless roads are dry. Just pulled the rear driveshaft out of the P38 as there...

Series 2 Broke the rear diff in 5 door 109

No backup sensors on a 1960 Land Rover. We wouldn't be trying to pull out the diff without removing the axle shafts. Splines on the shafts are fine. It would have been nice if an axle had broken rather than blow up the diff.

Series 2 Broke the rear diff in 5 door 109

My brother was backing up to a loading dock in his 109 station wagon to pick up his new exercise treadmill when he accidentally backed into a concrete barrier. Put a pretty big dent in his left rear bumper but the worst thing is he shattered his diff. Spider gear lying at the bottom and ring...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Today I started up my recent P38 purchase, a 99 Autobiogaphy that came with a factory winch and brush bar installation. I plan to swap this onto my offroader and then sell it although it is so nice I am tempted to kept it. Anyways, when I bought it there was a misfire on cylinder 7. Changing...

RR 4.2 Sc gearbox issue or d-shaft?

Most likely the gearbox rather than driveshaft. The previous ownernof my 08 SC had to replace the gearbox. $8,500 at an independant shop. Probably cost a lot more at a dealership. I believe the independant did send the car to a dealer for programing for a few hundred dollars.

    L322 4.4 jag v8

Recently bought a used car for my brother. What a PITA. People advertise cars on Facebook or Craigslist and never reply to your queries. Still waiting to here from a guy with a P38 I am interested in. I think it's rude to not reply.

New Top Gear RR off road review

Not exactly related to this thread but thought I would mention there is a YouTube video which is a compilation of L322s being driven offroad I warriors settings from mud to hard rock, often with street tires. Pretty interesting

    L322 4.4 jag v8

2007 to 2009 AjV8 engines do not have chain tensioner problems. This starts in 2010. I have never read anything bad about the AjV8 engine. Seem to be bulletproof. I have a 2008 SC with 220K km and no issues other than a leaking coolant hose which I easily replaced ( although the hose was $150).
