    Are prices dropping?

l've been watching (and sometimes bidding!) on Ebay mainly for TDCi 110's Most remain unsold as they seem to have high reserve prices. lt may be due to some dealers still advertising them at high prices, making people think theirs is worth similar. Some have been on sale on Ebay multiple...

    Are prices dropping?

I think that's always been the case with any "classic" vehicle. People in the concourse classic vehicle world get finicky about the correct screw heads and even the orientation of the screw.

    Are prices dropping?

What do you mean by "original vehicles" do you mean standard specification with no modifications or original as in pre-Defender (Series 1/2/3)

    Are prices dropping?

Prices rose a few years ago and stayed high during lockdown, after that they fell back to more reasonable levels and seem to have remained static since then. For instance back in 2018 l bought a very nice TD5 XS SW for £14,000. l had to sell it during lockdown due to money issues and a local...

    Defender won’t go above 50mph

He's not been back since but it sounds like as above, something wasn't put back after the clutch was replaced l fitted new glow plugs to my TD5 and after that it ran fine but wouldn't go much above 40mph. lt seemed like the turbo wasn't working. l checked and l hadn't reconnected the MAP...

Smaller new Defender on the way.

Well, l wouldn't call my new Defender a "bunch of sh*t" it's actually an awesome vehicle both on and off road. Had no issues with it either. And it's nothing like a Discovery to drive. I agree that Land Rover threw away their heritage when they stopped making the old Defender. They should have...

    Airsoft machine gun

Airsoft machine gun for sale. ln new condition, boxed with accessories. My missus absolutely hates it so it's never really been used. l got a bollocking just for testing it in the garden today "it's absolutely the worst place to do it, the pellets are bouncing everywhere" The gun has three...

Smaller new Defender on the way.

Apparently there's a smaller new Defender on the way, but not for a couple of years. The main issue l have with my new Defender is the size. It's fine for road use and as a Commercial l wouldn't want the rear load space (in my 90) to be any smaller. But for greenlaning and general off road use...

    Defender 90 XS TD

Was it after October 2010 when they all became Commercial Vehicles? I thought it was 2011. lf it was 2010 it might include a few late 2.4's

    Defender 90 XS TD

Sounds like someone managed to get it reclassified. lt used to be possible but the DVLA clamped down on it, as people were doing it to make their vehicles ULEZ and LEZ exempt. Understandably so, but the DVLA didn't want people doing it.

    New defender axle and suspension

l don't think it will ever replace the old Defender However lt's certainly capable. The 900 mm wading depth is useful. The other issue is image. Turn up at an African village or border crossing in an old 130 and you'll more than likely be treated as a friend. Not sure how you'd be received in...

    New defender axle and suspension

Yes the new Defender won't do any of that Apart from the Overlanding, l've seen some pretty impressive L663 Overlanders.

    Alarm td5

No they are obsolete. But you might find a good used unit on Ebay, just make sure the internal battery is still okay. Maybe better to just upgrade the alarm. As the factory one isn't that secure.

    New defender axle and suspension

So l think the conclusion to this is a/The new Defender (on paper) is better in every way than the old Defender b/This does not mean that it's better than the old Defender For Greenlaning and such like there's only one choice and it isn't the new model. For Overlanding the new model is...

Steel wheels on the new Defender

You could be right. There's quite a few on the other forums using these new Defenders for serious Overlanding particularly in the USA and Australia. And the steel wheels are really the only choice. lt's a shame these wheels don't fit the old model, there's around twenty sets for sale on Ebay...

Steel wheels on the new Defender

l think the new Defender looks best in base trim (no bling) with the steel wheels When l say "looks best" l mean "looks as good as it's going to" But few agree with me by the looks of it. Ebay is awash with new "take off" steel wheels with tyres as owners bolt fancy alloys on instead. l've...

Transfer Box change 1.4 to 1.2

"It’s a shame there isn’t an affordable and thoroughly reliable overdrive" ls the Roamerdrive overdrive not reliable? l thought they were okay. There's no electrical parts, it's fully mechanical with a lever that fitted next to the existing transfer box one.

Transfer Box change 1.4 to 1.2

Ashcroft do a 1.3 transfer box, maybe this would be a good compromise? Otherwise why not fit a Roamerdrive overdrive and get the best of both worlds. l was quoted around £2200 to supply and fit a couple of years ago. But it's likely gone up a few hundred since then. When l had my TD5 110 the...

    Defender 90 XS TD

So it's a Defender Hard Top (no rear seats)? Or do you have rear seats. They may have been fitted later as it's easy to convert a hard top into a station wagon. How much road tax do you pay? lf it's £360 it's a van/commercial. lf you're paying £700 then it's a car.
