Just got my wife a td4 manual

Before fitting the new propshaft, remove the IRD output pinion and inspect it. For non freelander nerds, the IRD is the transfer box doosah lumped onto the side of the gearbox, the output pinion of which is what drives the front end of the propshaft, and is held on by 5 bolts / studs. Start by...

I've been at sea a few weeks now, Millys sound awesome, tell me where I can I find them, then you can go back to drinking your galvy welder's ration of MILK...

There's an old wives tale that goes about engineering circles to drink mily when working with galvy metal, don't know the validity of it, or the science behind it, but it could worth doing as a belt and braces kind of control.

Definitely keep the clamp, unless you intend to submit it as evidence to press charges. Best of luck with the test though.

Cut the vertical web back sat 25mm, and then at an angle, like this: then fit it with wing nuts and it will look purdy... Are you going to be able to run a nut down thost studs? Just tickle it with flap discs and it should be fine, if it's exposed and you want to make it pretty, skim it with...

Front caliper has two designs of slide pins in it, one is solid, one has a groove machined into it in whcih goes a rubber band... Often times this rubber band deforms preventing the proper movement of the caliper, tt's an easy "upgrade" to order a new set of brake slides / pins and using one old...

@Nodge68 - you SEE! I told you! :p I did very briefly roll the dice I use for manmaths sums for vehicular stuff based on the same logic, but remembered I am trying to reduce the number of vehicles, not increase it. Just like weight reduction tuning on a car, my collection appears to have a...

I don't care where he was born, or lives, he started it, so I finished it. There was absolutely no need for him to go off on that tangent saying we were all lazy layabouts living on benefits watching TV all day, even were it true, say I were tapping away on this forum in the queue for methadone...

I like that idea, bar one thing, aren't there frame rails running under the boor floot either side of the fish tank, can't remember how much clearance there is from fish tank flanks to these "rails". But worst case put in the fishtank, one in a separate box either side of the rails.

I know from earlier in this thread you have what appears to be more stringent regulations governing your cars in NI than we have on the mainland, and I try to factor in them* meaning when I suggest something I've already pre-empted some of their, concerns. Glad to hear you're putting some steel...

That's why I suggested opening written dialogue with the appropriate authority to get clarificaiton on what you can and cannot do. If you get it in writing that doing away with the fishwell and putting in some hardpooints to support a battery box on the now flattened area under the boot floor...

When I make comments like this, I'm not meaning to be a bellend... I'd simly rather you had a metal barrier between your lungs and lithium battery smoke should the worst happen.

    Headlamp type

Still many potential designs depending on the vehicles age, and or spec. Hippo early design used black or grey plastic bumpers with single H4 bulbs, later came the face flit freelander with larger mostly colour coded bumpers with two separate bulbs for dipped / main headlights, H7 bulbs...

I genuinely think this new direction with batteries inside the passenger cabin is the worst decision you've made in the entire project. I've no skin in this gig, but I'd sounsel you to open written dialogue with the powers that be WRT battery box placement inside the cabin, and under the...
