ES 300 Tdi front seat removal

I hear what you say, discosrme! The roofs both worked when I bought it, two years ago, and there has never been a leak from that direction. Rain comes in under the doors and soaks the front carpets when the wind is very strong, but that's another issue. I have disconnetced the switch for the...

ES 300 Tdi front seat removal

Thanks, Chaps. Finally getting round to doing something about it, now the weather is improving. (My garage door is too low to admit Discos and the roof is asbestos, so modification isn't an option.) However, the people who are going to restore the seat have said they will remove it themselves...

    Early 110 Hi Cap

I have heard that the old girl made £1300 at auction and all three Land Rovers were bought by a dealer for selling on, so maybe we will hear more of her, one day. I do hope she will be looked after. My information now is that it really is an original, pre-production Hi-Cap. Fitted with a petrol...

ES 300 Tdi front seat removal

Thanks, KJ. I shall instigate a search next time I'm in Wrexham. Curiously, McDonald Land Rover in Oswestry don't keep them.

ES 300 Tdi front seat removal

I know all you guys out there can rebuild a Disco with your eyes shut and one hand behind your back, so please bear with an old fart who has just bought his first metric spanners and fancies a bit of tinkering in retirement. I need to remove the driver's seat for rebuilding. I have found a local...

At the age of 73 and on my 10th Land Rover (3 various Series, 2 RR classics, 1 Defender 90 and 4 Disco 300Tdis) I thought i would try a bit of DIY again. Found my socket set is Imperial and even Land Rovers seem to have moved on from those days, so I've just bought a new set in Halfords. Now...

You might try removing the thermostat altogether? That would at least eliminate one of the possibilities.

    Which Insa Turbo Tyre?

After weeks of Internet research I decided on a set of four Insa Turbo Traction Tracks for my 1995 Discovery 300 TDi. Mostly road use but, like Tarantula, I wanted them to look the part when green laning with the grandchildren. They were fitted one evening, with a lot of trouble because one...

    Early 110 Hi Cap

Further research has revealed that the 110 is actually a pre-production model, first registered on 1st December 1982 and used by Land Rover, presumably as a demonstrator.

    Early 110 Hi Cap

Cheeky bid? Moi? I was thinking of scrap plus a tenner if that's cheeky enough. At the moment, I think I may be the only one who knows what it is. If not the 110, perhaps the E-reg 90 next to it. I did post a photo, but it seems to have disappeared, so I'll try again here.

    Early 110 Hi Cap

Thanks for that. This one hasn't been on road for many years; just a Shoot vehicle. However, being one of the very first built, it must surely be worth saving. I'll check the manufacturer's ID plate, if I can find it.

    Early 110 Hi Cap

There is one for sale. It is Y-reg, so presumably from the first month of production. I have known the vehicle for about ten years and driven it a few times but when it got too expensive - for the 'careful' owner! - to repair, it was just parked up behind the workshop here on the Estate and a...

Give us a hint - it's the least you can do....

I don't want to start an argument but............. I've had two RR Classics long ago, a V8 that never quite managed 11mpg and then one with an old Perkins diesel out of a Massey Harris combine harvester. That was quarter of a century ago and I'm getting the urge to return to the World's finest...

    odd fuel prob.. any suggestions!!!

Fuel gauges are famously idiosyncratic and individual and you have to get to know what yours means when it says full or nearly empty. You might change expensive parts and find you still have a problem; just a different one!
