What did you do with your Range Rover today

Today I replaced my front road wheel and tyre due to hitting a 'terracotta' piece of Kerb that the council recently installed but forgot to illuninate or paint. It was raining and dark , I moved towards the centre of the street just in case a deliveroo driver suddenly appeared on my left asthey...

Wrapping Not As Easy s It Looks

Here is a picture, this is the worst looking one because I don't want to be in denial! As previously mentioned i wlll redo it later after using some knifing putty so the surface is really smooth and the blemishes not highlighted. It still looks a lot better than what was there before and colour...

Wrapping Not As Easy s It Looks

The rear quarters of our L322 were 'scabby' when we first got it, but I didn't pay much attention because there were far more serious issues to deal with, namely the rusted out sills and rear jacking points. Anywat having dealt with all that lot and just having MOT'd the Old girl I decided it...

    L322 Westminster or not?

you can try https://www.carvertical.com but don't pay for the full 'reveal' because it is not very comprehensive and not worth the money, the first build check is FREE, you just have to enter your VIN

Range rover L322 brakes locking up

Don't trust what the main dealer says, they know next to bugger all about 2004 models! When we first got our 2005 model we got completely rinsed by 'RR specialist" from then on relied on a good diagnostics unit, Foxwell Nt 530, but there are plenty of other ones available. There should have been...

L322 Weird ‘Rumble’ and diagtool recommendation

foxwell nt 530 is a good 'economy' diagnostic tool, costs around £180 It works fine for my 2005 and if I remember covers 2003 as well.

    Drivers Side Control Module Fixed

When we got the RR back from its very expensive MOT the drivers side electric window and mirror module had done its usual...which was for the drivers electric window switch to pop out. It was like it when we brought it and wasn't an issue, once in a while I would put a tiny bit of super glue on...

    Eye Watering MOT cost!

I agree with you about thestuck on joints, our Range was used to pull boats in and out of the water and soome of the 'fittings;' are ridiculously difficult to remove. We were given an advisory about the rear suspension bushes and told what a pig of a job it is to remove them becuae they are...

    Eye Watering MOT cost!

Now I have calmed down a bit I realise it was a fair price, I suppose I am just resentful that I was unable to do the work myself, but hey ho we live to fight another day as they say!

    Eye Watering MOT cost!

Thanks for that, owning the Rangey has given me and my boys enormous fun and satisfaction....much better than sitting at home watching day time TV and taking the Morphine thrust at you! I hope things work out well for you, the "more you believe, the more you can achieve" has become my motto. I...

    Eye Watering MOT cost!

With hindsight I would have bought a newer one with full service history etc...but despite it's exhorbitant running costs I am very fond of the old girl we ended up with. I have also had the added benefit of working on it with my 18 year old son giving us quality time we might not have had if...

    Eye Watering MOT cost!

Before I got diagnosed with the cancer I suffered terrible back pain, but I would definitely have done the job myself! My Father was an aircraft engineer and we had a garage with a working pit and more tools than you could imagine. In the end it was a case of needs must, you can't expect to run...

    Eye Watering MOT cost!

We live most of the time in London and unfortunately I cannot work under the vehicle due my 'tumored' spine for which I receive chemo and immuno therapy once every three weeks, therefore I can only do basic stuff like servicing. The RR went in to have new cv boots all round that had made it fail...

    L322 8 speed box problem

You should definitely do the reset, I did it on our pig of a GM 5 speed box and it has worked wonders!

    Trans fail safe

It is good that it is working in low ratio and in sport mode, hopefully at worst you will need to replace the solenoid (can be found on e-spray for around £50) Once you receive your Foxwell you should be able to clear the error code and be fine...for a while, but the failsafe mode may return...

idle speed adjustment using foxwell nt 530

Thanks for that Data, that was next up on my check list and I think will probably be the actual cause. Will need to replace ECU probably but I will disconnect it and give it a good blast with contact cleaner first. That is after I have got the old girl passed her MOT which she failed on a couple...

idle speed adjustment using foxwell nt 530

Hi thee, because it is too high, I think it should be around 760. I spend half the week in traffic so it will make a big difference in diesel consumption. Once I am back in the country it doesn't matter.

idle speed adjustment using foxwell nt 530

yep it shows rpm but I think I need to investigate the tacho possibility as well, especially as I have 275x65x18 tyres fitted I think they 'mess' with the system!

idle speed adjustment using foxwell nt 530

Quick update, the save feature 'suddenly' popped up! Unfortunately so far it has only saved a 0.2 rpm reduction and deosn't want to go lower. THe unit states it will only adjust between 7.5 and 8.5 I would be really happy if I can gert it down to 7.5 but that seems as if it will require a bit...
