    L322 Door wont work

we had the rear door stop opening, used plenty of wd 40 and a bendy plastic ruler to 'trip' the lock, it has been absolutely fine since, just took a lot of patience!

    L322 Beautification process completed

A bit of both maybe? Personally I think it was gas welded but others think it was braised to keep the temperature down. All I know is that it was a neat job done by someone who was proud of his work, as anexample, I provided one new jacking point insert and an original, I also purchased some...

    Waxoyl or Lanoguard

they do have the capacity to store dirt, but do prevent stones etc. we kept flaps front and rear but got rid of side steps, less wind noise as a bonus!

L322 Chassis Back From The Brink

Well, beautification panels all back on with few problems, HOWEVER, while I was fastening the lower N/S side panel I noticed that the lower suspension ball joint is perished, only noticed it because it was on full lock! I am going to replace the complete lower control arm on both sides as it is...

L322 Chassis Back From The Brink

Well, everything is back in place now bar the plastic panels which we will do tomorrow. Any illusions/dellusions that getting the tank guards back on was going to be easy were quickly and brutally dispelled! Heat guards didn't wnt to play ball either, had to re[osition them because they were...

    Welder west cornwall

No on this occasion I took vehicle in for just one rear jacking point, but on inspection the other side was knackered as well. So I was quoted what I think is an astonishing £600 to do BOTH rear jacking points and sills, the Caveat though was that we had to do most of the Prep work ourselves...

    Welder west cornwall

Like hen's teeth I am afraid, due to the 'delicate' nature of Boron metals used.Make sure whoever you find gives you a comprehensive quote otherwise you might be taken for a ride, even if you know Lr'sbackward!

Not As Easy To Re-Jack Point L322 As Thought

I am not sure, what I do know is it can actually be jacked up using the points without anything going wrong....probably the first time in 15years! Metal he used he desrcibed as 'substantial'.

Not As Easy To Re-Jack Point L322 As Thought

Frightening! I wonder how many last two decades vehicles are driving around which have been incorrectly repaired due to the complex nature of Boron? More than a few I would imagine.

Not As Easy To Re-Jack Point L322 As Thought

We'll give it a proper clean up over the weekend and then seal things up next week during the supposed good weather on its way. Like you say it is not what it looks like, it is how it works and survives. Don't want to be spending too much more time underneath, would rather enjoy on the road...

Not As Easy To Re-Jack Point L322 As Thought

Yep, the problem as you said is the guage you are welding on to, but given the circumstances he did a good job. It will look more pleasing on the eye after a bit of rust eat treatment on the peripherals and a coat of stone chip, most importantly he ensured the metal behind the arches was good...

Not As Easy To Re-Jack Point L322 As Thought

Here we go, raining cats and dogs here so no proper pictures until tomorrow, bit of treatment then a quick stone chip followed by some insulation, NOT FOAM! but Waxol. 21 hours at £30 per hour including fabricating ALL the sections in heavy guage! Unfortunately like I said, he doesn't want to do...

Not As Easy To Re-Jack Point L322 As Thought

Well the Old girl went in for replacement hips (jack points) and we were full of enthusiasm that Alan The Welder would steam in and sort her out. Alas as this is a 2005 Rangey the job has turned into a full emergency operation! Alan has fabricated all the parts for both sides and completed one...
