    Landrover Defender 90 200Tdi - Brakes/calipers , Radio electrics and security

I found this quite a good video to see the plus and minus about bush types.

    Landrover Defender 90 200Tdi - Brakes/calipers , Radio electrics and security

As has been said above, won't the wolf wheels need longer wheel studs, not a stub axle? Also, if you are doing a refurb where the truck is off the road for a number of days, consider electrolysis for cleaning rusty gear. A great method of cleaning small parts!

My Britpart calipers seem OK. I did fit Delphi pads mind.

    Cooling system bleeding

When mine was stuck I cut the hexagonal section deeper by cutting away the flange to the same shape as the upper bit. This made a much deeper hex section to get a sparkplug socket on. I used a decent braker bar and just rocked it backwards and forwards to loosen it. I originally thought I was...

    Cooling system bleeding

This is a similar thing to what I saw. I think they are 1/2" taper thread so tighten with caution, but cheap with a bleed screw - you just need a radiator bleed key to open the vent.

    Cooling system bleeding

That plug looks like it has seen better days. I would seriously consider changing it for a brass plug to reduce the likelihood of problems in the future. The plastic ones are notorious for binding and having to be cut out piece by piece and bits falling into the thermostat housing whilst doing...

    New Landy Owner

Yorkshire is a large area so it may be worth being a bit more specific with your location. Also a few photos of what you are trying to fix may help as people can advise you how to move forward. Lots of experience on here and people willing to help. Good luck and enjoy.

Anyone here use fluid film undercoating?

Some photos of the fluid film. Before applying. Going on via a spray bottle. Before smoothing out. Spread with a paint brush. It goes on easily enough but it isn't even. It dribbles and runs so smoothing out with a brush improves how it coats the surfaces it's on. It is thin enough to...

    90 Defender rear crossmember 93 (k)

Both the rear crossmember and the bulkhead outrigger is now done. It wasn't easy doing the work on my drive and it was another job i didn't know how to approach. However a bit of perseverance and I got there. I still have the wiring to do as I had to split the loom and I have decided to use some...

Anyone here use fluid film undercoating?

The stuff I got was clear. When applied the area at the moment just looks wet, so I will have to see how it looks in a week+. I have only done a small area as I had sprayed Lanoguard a few months ago and it's hardly been out since. The exhaust is off at the moment so I am trying to do the areas...

Anyone here use fluid film undercoating?

I have been applying it just now and it seems to have started atomising. It had been in the car overnight and that said 10 degrees C on the display when I got it out, so perhaps it has warmed up a bit. I will put more up later.

Anyone here use fluid film undercoating?

Just a note to any of you folks rushing to place an order for fluid film. I have tried it in the Lanoguard sprayer and it won't go as a spray, just a jet, which isn't what I want. This will mean I have to follow the application with brushing or a rag - which is not what I want! I will give a...

Anyone here use fluid film undercoating?

Fluid film arrived yesterday. 18.92 litres (5 US gallons) for £126.90 delivered. Should go further than the 2ltrs of Lanoguard!

Defender 90 rear anti roll bar links

That's a great result. We certainly learn lessons as we do this maintenance thing (well I hope I have learned from it!!).

Another possibility would be to drill a hole in the flat face of the nut that is easy to access. Start small (5mm or so), then possibly onto 7, 9, etc - just don't brake the drill! This will potentially make it easier to chisel but may also relieve the strength of the nut so may make it easier...

    Lanoguard

I have used Lanoguard and whilst it us easy to apply it didn't go as far as I expected. I haven't really given it enough on the road time in wet weather to give you a proper review, but I don't mind reapplying it every year as it actually makes me look at the chassis. My chassis is 30 years...

    90 Defender rear crossmember 93 (k)

Well I collected the crossmember from a very nice gentleman and brought it home to prepare for fitting. It had been cut off the old chassis and the old pieces were still inside. Removing them wasn't easy but I got there in the end. The crossmember is in good nick and galvanised so hopefully...

    Bearmach due to close

Really sad news. Firstly I am so sorry for those people that will be loosing their jobs at such a financial unstable time. Also it's the loss of a supplier of kit for us, which on a selfish note, is not good for us keeping our vehicles on the road. Their website just has a line of text saying...

    90 Defender rear crossmember 93 (k)

The price of a galv chassis certainly looks higher than it was, which is a real shame. When I look at old build threads and see the prices paid I am shocked at the prices now. The other issue with a new chassis is all the new other bits too. With a 30 year old truck I would expect quite a few...
