Which Diagnostic reader is best for the FL1?

Thanks, erm, Mike. Are you really skinny? Just kidding. I used to be, but the years have caught up with me. The reason I'm looking at altering the mileage is because I'm about to drive to the UK, and my mileometer only indicates Kilometres. I'm considering replacing it with one that shows both...

Which Diagnostic reader is best for the FL1?

TLO, Flaming-heck ... that was me and my mates (crew). We were treated like scum by the resident Station Commander, simply because we chose the nearest airfield to land at. I could never remember the name, Binbrook, for some strange reason. Perhaps it's because I never wanted to see the freezing...

    Freelander TD4 2005

Absolutely marvellous! If it was possible to breed Freelanders, I would be bringing my own to meet yours!! lol

Which Diagnostic reader is best for the FL1?

I'm wondering where you saw the Shack with no undercarriage? Hmmm. We once had a complete hydraulic failure, where we flew round-and round over the Humber for about 30 min's, during a Friday afternoon. Each & every airfield in Lincolnshire closed down on us. None wanted to run the risk of an...

Which Diagnostic reader is best for the FL1?

Okay, I know there's been a LOT of threads on this subject, but by all accounts there has also been a LOT of different choices & personal opinions made. To begin with, I recently bought a KONNWEI OBDII/EOBD KW808, where it was advertised as useable for every vehicle. It isn't. It's for petrol...

    FL1 Rear-Diff knocks/bangs when gear is changed.

Oh bugger! I bought the poly-flaming-stuff. I'm persuaded by the comments of you learned few; and although I've ordered a threesome-set of poly bushes, I'll do the same for rubber. And then I guess it's going to be a case of trial-&-error. This could be very interesting.

    FL1 Rear-Diff knocks/bangs when gear is changed.

Thanks, guys. I've looked at the bushes and right enough, the front/forward one seems soft and subject to large amounts of movement. And as for your information, Arctic2, I'll do what you suggest and replace the lot of 'em with poly-bushed units. Thanks to all for your help. NB. I've just bought...

    FL1 Rear-Diff knocks/bangs when gear is changed.

I previously read a Thread that suggested the problem of why the rear-diff tended to knock when the gears were changed. I recall it was something to do with the rear-diff's mountings. However, I cannot locate what I read so wonder if someone could remind me of the cause of this thumping-sound...

Red Floods. Like an aircraft. See what's what! In the dark.

Hi Rich. I included photo's in my earlier replies, so perhaps you can view them. I see you're in Vancouver - a really great place. Harsh winters though, but fantastic in the summer. As are all the Canadian areas I've visited. The red-floods are fantastic for using, whether to following a map or...

Side-steps Freelander Side-Steps that needed modifying, painting and acceptance of damage.

I guess it's a lesson that you don't know what you're gonna get until you receive it, as I say to all the girls. lol. Don't tell my wife though. lol

Side-steps Freelander Side-Steps that needed modifying, painting and acceptance of damage.

There's a good ending to this tale of woe. The manufacturer/seller have apologised wholeheartedly, stating the dents were more-than-likely caused during the delivery process, and have fully reimbursed me. Yes, fully. And told to keep the steps. What can I say? They have turned out be more...

Side-steps Freelander Side-Steps that needed modifying, painting and acceptance of damage.

I'm writing to add that I have tried for the past three hours to add a Review for the SOLARISTUNING seller, on Ebay - to say what I received and how I have been treated. Ebay has to the worst kind of dealer for trying to inform the public & buyers to any kind of negative experience and/or...

Side-steps Freelander Side-Steps that needed modifying, painting and acceptance of damage.

I take on board what you say, and must add you may very well be right. i contacted the seller/manufacturer and they weren't interested to even bother replying. So, to anyone who reads this and my report, do not buy from this seller on Ebay or any other selling outlet. Thanks.

Side-steps Freelander Side-Steps that needed modifying, painting and acceptance of damage.

Yeah, maybe so, but I hope this serves as a lesson so others don't get caught out. I mean, the steps themselves look good, except for the dents, and they wont rust - except the mounting brackets.

Red Floods. Like an aircraft. See what's what! In the dark.

Linear. A carbon-track giving a direct scale wave-form without altered deviation. An On/Off with Max to min, or, Min to Max, output, all dependent on the wiring configuration.

I'm including two photo's, as requested. I'm planning to replace the Controlling Switch with a 'Switchable potentiometer', which will allow me to alter the brightness - if required. That'll be the Mk II. I must add, that until anyone uses such a device it's difficult to understand or accept the...

    Egr Blanking Mod

I agree with what you say, Grumpy. The MOT's (ITV's in Spain) are becoming increasingly aware of diesels and their emissions. The EGR will soon be an essential fit, as standard, the way things are going. I'll delay mine until the last moment, or perhaps just refit it for the ITV inspection.
