I'm yet to plug it in because it's so intermittent (also because I have another project eating my time). Hopefully it's just a rear rub, both the front ones are new! Will go over where the sensors plug in with some contact cleaner and see if that fixes things. Not sure if this is a symptom of...

So I took it out for a play in the mud weekend before last and it blew me away with how capable it was. Didn't take many pictures - was having too much fun. Here's a still from the only video I got :D Next jobs: - sort that coolant leak - figure out why mi amigos show up randomly sometimes...

I took the picture while I was waiting on new bolts so the old ones were in just enough to stop the hub falling off 'til the postie arrived

Haha aye, I wasn't sure how to take the news that I didn't need an extension on my breaker bar

Oh, three amigos and handbrake light all sorted too. The day was going too well, I should've anticipated something piddling out without me noticing

Aye I did the maths as it happens :) Booked it in and dropped it off for an MOT today, noticed when I got to the garage I've no coolant left lmao Temp needle went a smidge over half way so it got me curious, when I looked it was empty. No idea where the leak is yet. Left it with them and...

    Canyonero's D2

Haha I won't. Just impossible to tighten without the wheels on and some weight on 'em :D

    Canyonero's D2

Back in almost one piece both sides, track rod end done, drag link changed, sensors plugged in then ran out of oil for the diff :) One ace actuator boot and about 250ml of gear oil away from being ready for an MOT. Frustrating to say the least - it'll be a 2hr round trip to do 20 mins work on...

Chucked 'em all back in finger tight and I'm trying to convince myself to wait but I'm too excited to get the wheels back on and see what mi amigos are saying haha
  15. Canyonero

    Canyonero's D2

Haha neither, new hubs both sides, didn't take the sensor out of the new ones :D

    Canyonero's D2

Nah they don't look bad. Just a little bit crunchy, but still solid. I'll hang everything on with one bolt probably so I can run the sensor cables and check the amigos are sorted out then throw the new bolts in when they arrive.

Well, the new ball joints are in! Ordered replacement bolts for the wheel hub but they didn't come in time and I'm impatient as hell so I'm tempted to just reuse the old ones. Next job this afternoon is putting it back together, then on to track rods :)

Makes sense. Had to put the tub back on before I would've liked to so didn't give it nearly enough coats o_O

No end of recommendations for chassis treatments I bet! I used hammerite on my old Hilux but it was horrific, like I hadn't done it a few months later. I've made my peace with letting it rot this winter and doing it after a spell of nice weather next year so there's a cat in hell's chance the...
