The apportioning valve can seize somwiporth taking part and cleaning. Also read that your right air pecan get in it but by cracking the pipes open it can be bled too

The transmission brake shoes not as important as the wheel brakes, so you can clean them up with brake cleaner and roughen with sandpaper but you might find they still work adequately even when contaminated
Sounds like you got a good one there 😀, but seriously you can reduce noise with some wright off-road matting ( mine was about £500) , lack of centres g could be tight steering box or tracking.

The spring goes from the backplate onto the stud on the shoe which keeps it tight onto the cam adjuster,

This is on eBay, I live 20 mile away from S&A and picked mine up, but you need GL4 not GL5 as that can be bad for the phosphor bronze bits in gearbox as you say
