    Started fitting crank today, piston coolers first, plastigauge quite difficult easy to smudge see journal 4 on pic, as mains caps are interference fit the tapping/levering can dislodge the bearing slightly making plastigauge inaccurate, need more practice but getting there all seem at bottom end...

    Sounds like a broken crank, have one here that does just the same, would say the more you run it the more damage, doesn't always destroy block, but mostly, oem cranks are available, keeping my fingers crossed its something less serious all the best
