    3 x 265/70 R16 Kingpin Advantage Tyres

I knackered my front right  and had to go for different tyres all round as I couldn't get a replacement straight away and needed the landy back on the road ASAP. Good tread (approx 10mm on all 3) £90 collected from Sutton Coldfield. Cheers Grebby

    Query on directional tread

No it doesn't, it points upwards when viewed from behind. V points forwards from top and thus rearwards on the contact patch. This means any mud is pushed out from the centre of the tyre giving purchase on more solid ground underneath. the other way round would tend to trap the slippy under the...

It's fuel filter change time so..

A box of 6 arrived the other day so I am now good to go. I did have to have a look about for where it goes on the Landy tho'. It's not on the bulkhead like I was expecting but that's what you get with a bitsa landy. It's nice and convenient, just near the fuel pump. Really easy to reach :tea:

It's fuel filter change time so..

I don't think I can swallow the £12 + vat for the genuine one when the other OEM marked one is £4.45 + vat. Marmaduke, your bio bloke should be dropping off in about 1/2 hr :) Cheers Grebby

Got ya. Any recommendations on where to get? Cheers Grebby

It's fuel filter change time so..

I know that its a AEU2147L. I have searched on here but can't find any recomended suppliers so had a look on paddocks. They have them (obviously) but are the really cheap britpart ones cheap for a reason? The OEM ones are £4.45 + VAT each but the britpart ones are £1.95 + VAT. Basically has...

    Front Prop

New prop in and all appears to be OK. Only had a low speed run round town though. I'll see what other problems occur when I get it out on a longer higher speed drive soon I hope. Cheers Grebby

What have you done to your Landie today.

Collected a nice new front prop shaft :) Hope I can fit it tomorrow.

    soldering iron?

Weller are(were? mine was liberated when I finished my apprenticeship about 20yrs ago) good. I think mine is 40W. Tips also make a big difference to heat transfer. Not sure on up to date models though, sorry :o

    Front Prop

Bit more info. I spoke to the other company who suspected it was from Scorpion Racing Products and was made from bits not suitable for the job(apparently the DC bit is for use on a PTO shaft and not designed for prop shaft speeds). I emailed them the above pics and they confirmed it. So new...

    Front Prop

Press arrived and was assembled. I thought I'd start at the easy end and pressed out the UJ. Then seeing as teh replacement UJs had not then arrived I looked at the other (i.e. double) end. I should have taken a closer look first  The end UJs looks normal/similar to the...

    Front Prop

I'll see how it goes then. Expect more questions:rolleyes:

No idea Ginge:confused: I was just going on what jamesmartin said. Has this just got more complicated?
  15. G

    Front Prop

Well I've got me one of these on order and 3 new UJs so we'll see how it goes.

Stuck with broken cv in a ditch on track need a pull out

Just noticed the txt. Sorry I was in bed. That said my Landy is currently 2wd anyway so probably not the best for towing. Cheers Grebby

    Front Prop

Thanks. It's good to know that it can be done without a press but I've managed to persuade the wife that one would make things easier. She has said that if the garage want to charge more than £50 labour to put in the UJs then I should buy a press and do it myself. I feel a new toy arrival...

    Front Prop

That's basically what I thought :) Just need to get a small bench press now to pop them in:rolleyes: Wife is going to love that.

    Front Prop

Thanks once again James. I have just measured them and they are 27mm dia and as far as I can tell 84 or 85mm long. So they will be RTC3346 then :) I've done a search on how to change the UJs but I don't have a big vice or press so may need to do some shopping :o It's the UJs (both)...

    Front Prop

Spoke too soon  UJs are now knackered :( I've got the prop off now and will have to sort out replacing the UJs. How do I tell what UJs are needed?
