Depending on how much I'd have to do to get it back together the Dolly Sprint box would be worth money, it might even be worth summat as it is. Pinto stuff is always worth dosh, I have a complete engine including ancillaries, a 4 speed box and another head. Other bits of B series engines, etc...

    300 TDI oil leak

It is probably due to the sump flange not being completely flat. This tends to happen when people overtighten the bolts and warp it a tad. If you take it off to hammer it completely flat then you will have the opportunity to see where the oil is coming from.

Just been to Poole to buy my combined Xmas and Bday pressy, a new pooter. Couldn't find the one I had chosen, on Curry's website. Eventually, very eventually, managed to speak to a blokey who found me what I was looking for, more or less. So came home and ordered it online. Will have to go back...

You are not the only one. At least W tends not to set foot in the garage so I can at least hang onto stuff that otherwise I might have to get rid of. I've got a 4 speed Cortina gearbox, if that is any use?! 🤣 🤣 Or a rather suspect Dolmite Sprint MOD one. (Stored outside with no ATF in for...

Disco 1 V8 Vacuum advance unit

The bobweights are to be found under the plate in the distributor, they are sprung so that they stay close to the centre of the distributor under low revs but once the engine revs higher the bobweights move outwards under centrifugal force and move the top part of the spindle so that the spark...

Disco 2 TD5 Battery Terminal Clamps - What To Get?

If you just hammer it down with a socket, you know you are not expanding it beyond its failure point, if you use the screwdriver technique you will be expanding the top of it more than the bottom and the bottom is what needs to expand as the terminals are slightly conical. Or do you expand it...
