Last lot I bought were just straight tube to be cut to length from Norauto in France. They came with blanking pipes too. So a very mainstream auto parts shop. They may well have not been silicon though.

The trick is to peel them until there are no green (bitter) leaves left on them. just yellow ones. Cross cut in the bottom/stalk. Then boil them for not too long. In salted water. They taste nice just like that, with a bit o gravy. The smokey bacon, butter sauté thing is a nice touch.

@gstuart ????? Could it simply be that the arm isn't sufficiently tightened down onto the spline of the motor? Not knowing the car itself, as you know! The idea of "the hole being too big" worries me a bit! Does he mean the hole on the wiper arm?
