ED4 2 wheel drive rear subframe

I don't know for sure, but I imagine the 2WD frame is the same as the 4WD frame with the diff mounts removed to save a few grams of weight to save a few micro liters of fuel. However, I wouldn't put it past JLR to punch an impression in the 2WD chassis to foul on a 4WD frame diff mount so you...

Diameter of Brake piston FL1 2006

I think the only change to the brakes was in 2000 when they went from solid to vented disks - and other stuff like larger vacume thingie and presumably calipers. So presumably anything that isn't a YA vin should be the right one.

FL2 - hit and run (no one hurt) - damage repairable?

This. But as the sod hit you then drove off, you make sure it gets fixed, and not necessarily cheaply, and make sure the sod pays every penny as well as what ever plod do.

Freelander 1 Sad Tidings. And many Thanks.

Depends really. If you like the car, its in good condition and is otherwise reliable... then spending some money on it... maybe take the 'opportunity' to replace the clutch, and slave... would be a good idea. However, if its time to change, the F2 is a great car ;) If it goes wrong though...

Freelander 1 WHITE smoke cutting out after few seconds starting

If you're in the northern hemisphere in July - I don't think glow plugs are your problem. Pretty sure the M47 only needs them when its fookin cold. I really have no idea what the problem is, but if you pushed me to suggest something, I'd say you may have fuel leaking into the cylinders when...

    Freelander 1 Tailgate doesn't open - Td4 2002

There has been an exactly same thread recently - the solenoid became detatched from the latch. The 2 bits are supplied as 1 piece joined by a rod that had become detatched on the lock side. There was a tab you can push with a screwdriver or summat to release the latch.

Freelander 1 Immobilizer. Issue. Run away or worth trying

The topic is obviously quite a bit more expansive than just what can and can't be programmed!

What have you done to your Freelander today

You say that it was minimum cost to you, but that lot can't have been cheap. Many a F1 would have been crushed for less. Well done for getting it all done up :D

Freelander 1 Freelander 1 brakes seized

It's only the brakes. Getting the file out to willy-nilly take bits off can't harm anything. Making the pads loose within the caliper, vibration when in use - erm, ah, its only the brakes  I might suggest that if you think the pads are faulty, for the sake of other road...

Freelander 1 Rear Armrest Cupholders ?

TBH they are totally different vehicles from the ground up. You are just as likely to get an armrest from a different manufacturer to fit. You'd be more likely with something out of the Rover stable, like a 75 or summat, but still unlikely.

    Reprogram manual Key

Because it has the coded CCU on the back?
  19. GrumpyGel

    Reprogram manual Key

Doesn't sound like problems related to the key. If the car thinks the back door is open, then it won't raise the window. You need to fix that and there's a lot of it about at the moment in different threads. Sensor is on the door opening actuator - easiest thing is a replacement actuator...

    New FL1 Owner

Your list of things to do in order of priority... 1. Check all tyres are matching make & model, and they are pumped to the same pressure. 1. 1 wheel up test on VCU. 1. Check oil in IRD to make sure it looks like oil and does not have a metallic sheen to it. 1. Remove props, make sure there's...
