ok got it back. Looks like it might be the engine ecu cos he can't read it. He can get into the other systems he said but not the engine ecu. I have another engine ecu I bought, but if i can't get the code from the old one how do i sync the new one? I tried plugging the new ecu straight in but...

yeah thats where mine came out. Just under the carpet behind centre console. They didn't come with ps2's though did they? I presumed they would have come from the factory with a dvd player.

Just found an old thread about this and it turned out to be the engine ecu at fault? Symptoms seemed identical to mine and after replacing everything like me, it seems the ecu wasn't sending the correct signal to the lambda sensors and messing up the fueling. I have a feeling its been running...

Hi, anyone in the Bradford area with a code reader? Mine won't work on the RR. I went and had the codes read (£30!) and an o2 sensor was kaput and both front abs sensors. I fitted both abs sensors yesterday and now the TC light has gone out but the ABS light is still on, so could do with...

Funnily enough I do have spring coils on mine.....I didn't put em on though. It had already been done :) I can't comment on whether they are better having never driven a RR with air springs. Gotta be much more reliable though :D:behindsofa:

looks like its the plug that differs? But if everything else is the same surely it makes sense to get the cheaper one and just splice it to the old connector??

Ok here's an update. Engine flush, oil change, oil filter change, air filter change all done. New plugs and leads. Now need two front abs sensors. One side has had a new sensor fitted but its still coming up as faulty. And I need two lambda sensors. Everywhere I look for the lambda sensors...

oh and I'm suspecting a manifold leak aswell from the strong fumes coming off the engine!! And I changed all the plugs and leads aswell today and the old plugs were so sooty I could have drawn a picture with em!! So it also looks like its running too rich.......don't know what to do about that...
