    The edge of the brake drum fits into the groove on the back plate.It fits in quite neatly so if there is any deformation in the back plate it will rub against the drum,as you apply the brakes there will be very slight deflection in the drum it self hence it will make a rubbing noise

    Hi Have you cleaned the rust and crud from the backplate as it could be that thats making the noise or its slighty bent and catching the drum.

    Went out this morning to a slight frost turned on the heated screen and only the n/s defrosted.Is the screen knackered or is it likely to be a wiring fault if so is the wiring accessable and where is it so i can check i have a power feed to it.Any advice would be welcome
