AFM Reading of 7.89 ohms, no adjustment that I can see on the AFM itself other than a large flat brass acre on the underside which has no affect to the continuity. Edit: The above reading is with ignition ON. Is this a duff AFM?

TPS voltage is 0.00484 millivolts with ignition on. So 4.84 Volts. Does that sound about right? I suck bigtime with electrical issues so kind of relying on you guys here.

3.9 Efi to carbs, how to?

Yes, that test method makes sense, thanks, I’ll try that out today. I may try that before looking at the TPS, no need to tweak the TPS if the issue is somewhere else. Thanks to all for advice so far, I do feel like I’m getting somewhere, slowly!

Not guessing, just time, I’ll get round to checking voltages today and see what’s going on.

I read that on an Australian LR forum actually, glad you’ve backed that up some. I shall persevere for now, carbs are a last resort.

3.9 Efi to carbs, how to?

Well the fuel pressure sensor came in the post today and I fitted it then went into town to pick up some antifreeze, it’s about. 15-18 mile round trip, I had no issues at all, maybe, just maybe I’ve cured the cutting out issue. Just a recap on what I’ve replaced so far... Every ignition...

3.9 Efi to carbs, how to?

Any pictures of kick down cable fitted to a 3.9 on carbs?

3.9 Efi to carbs, how to?

Glad you mentioned that, I was just thinking about the exact same thing.

3.9 Efi to carbs, how to?

Okay, not a big issue either way I suppose, a relatively simple fix isn’t it.

So it is quite a simple procedure? How about dashboard temp gauge?

3.9 Efi to carbs, how to?

As many may have seen I’ve been having a tough old time finding an intermittent cut out issue on my 95 3.9 Disco. I’m now thinking just put carbs on and be done with it as the only thing I haven’t changed is the TPS and there obsolete. My questions are... How do I go about this from an...

Yes I can imagine! I have searched for those pots and there’s literally none! Got my buddy in the states checking sites over there for one, hopefully he finds something. If I can’t find the cause of the issue I shall just buy an inlet manifold and pair of carbs I think. I’ve never converted an...

Fingers crossed it not the pot then! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. I have a friend in the USA who is a whizz with electronics, I may mention this to him see what thoughts he has.

Somit would be a case of replacing it then?

    Disco 1 misfire,1995 3.9 V8

Thanks Kev, I’ll do the above and post back with the results. If the the throttle potentiometer has low voltage to it how is that adjusted? My issue is when driving it will randomly cut out for a second and then carry on driving as though everything is fine until you come to a halt, then the...

    Disco 1 misfire,1995 3.9 V8

Well it didn’t last for long, cut out on me today whilst driving along and as usual immediately fires right back up and carries on going until you come to a halt and the idle just drops as though there isn’t one. This time I kept it running until I could pull over, I let the revs drop on their...

    Which manifold gasket?!

Yes, exhaust manifolds. I too used the individual gaskets, there just seems to be a little more ‘squash’ in them I think. Just strange how they only lasted a few weeks. I’ll check the manifolds, never really thought that far into it when I replaced them. Thanks :-)

After changing the fuel pump relay it seems to have cured the cutting out issue. I’m still in doubt though as it used to cut out at running temperature on a warm day, today being cooler the temp gauge didn’t read the temp that it would normally cut out at. Time will tell, but for now it appears...

Exactly where you said they were, however...! Top row I only have two relays, bottom row has three. Top row are both ‘Bosch’ 30 amp 5 pin relays so those must be Efi and fuel pump. Only have one new relay so have changed one for now, if issue persists I’ll swap it over and see if that...
