again this makes sense, i have noticed a "rush of air noise" in the engine compartment when the turbo spools, i originally thought it was the turbo - it could well be a rush of air from one of these hoses - thanks guys, I have a busy morning ahead of me tomorrow - I appreciate the effort you are...

many thanks to both of you, I have read the threads on the breather filter - will whip that out in the morning to see if that helps - in terms of the intercooler pipework leakage - is that just oil I have drawn up due to the oil level or something else?

i can comfotably cruise at 80 once i get there, it just takes a while - and yes struggles on hills - however the cat & exhaust system all look brand new (stainless)

not sure what engine this is, date of registration Dec 2004. Had a chat with a mechanic friend, he thinks I may have overfilled the oil - which has caused the turbo to draw in liquid through the intercooler, filling and possibly crudding up the vanes in the turbo - probably popping the shaft...
