The chopped up chassis sold for £750, that's just bonkers, you could tax a motor for nearly 4 years for that sort of money, and you wouldn't be breaking the law. Who in their right mind would pay that?

That's pretty blatant, might be worth reporting. Ebay don't really care about things like this unless they get some bad publicity out of it, if there was a newspaper article or TV expose of this then they'd be down on it like a tonne of bricks. the problem i see is how would you word the rule...

Who ever is stealing the defenders, it isn't petty criminals taking them on the off chance of being able to strip them and sell a few parts on ebay, the sheer volume of cars going missing points to an organised group or groups stealing them to order and exporting them, probably either to Africa...

and all the toe rags need to do is buy a 'tax exempt' ID from ebay and away they go

Is it a bitza or a ringer though? all the panels seem to the same colour inside, he's glued some chequer plate on the back wings for reasons best known to himself so you can't tell where the filler cap was originally, (ie TD5 style or behind the drivers door) also the build quality looks...

From the pictures it looks like there's not much of the original D reg motor left on that one, in fact i'd say it was mostly a later TD5.

I wasn't referring to any specific thing, he had a lot of late land rover spares, engines gearboxes axles etc on when i posted the link which has now ended, and it's a private account which didn't have much feedback for that sort of stuff, i wondered where a items like a gear box, a full XS...
