Removing top windscreen finisher (rubber) on a D2

The rain came and it still leaks..... So now we wait for it to dry out and try again :)

Removing top windscreen finisher (rubber) on a D2

Well put some on behind the rubber. Next day did the same and it just sat there rather than disappear so I think it has worked. Just need to wait for some heavy rain to test it! Thanks for the suggestion, it was a lot easier than taking the rubber off would have been :)

    Discovery 2 Air Springs

Better ride is very subjective. I guess he may have swapped because he thought coils was a better ride as opposed to coils give a better ride full stop. I went back to air because I always have a lot in the back or tow. So the self levelling is great. Even when I have it empty I like the...

    help air suspension

It's almost certainly a leak somewhere. Pump up to full height and get some soapy water. Check out the bags, connections, valve block etc.

Removing top windscreen finisher (rubber) on a D2

Capt. Tolleys arrived yesterday. I pulled back the rubber slightly at the top and poured som in along the entire length of the screen. It suggested a few applications, so will do it again today and then we can find out if it's done the trick.

how to re-programme discovery 2 key

Not sure about autologic, but the nanocom has the option to use either the barcode that comes with a new key, or the code printed inside the key. I know that not all diagnostics let you use the internal number.

    2000 TD5 Cruise control

Ah, Fair enough, I have the V8 D2 not the TD5, hence why I can see one on mine :) Learn something new everyday on here. Ben

    2000 TD5 Cruise control

By bellows I mean the bit that connects to the throttle body cruise cable. It uses a Vacuum pump to close the bellows and thus pull the cable.

    All comms

I just dropped Storey an email as I was interested in when the D2 bits might come, and this is what he said :- I am trying my best to finish the L322 Range Rover in the next few weeks. The D2 is next on the list. The P38a is very last. The D2 may be easier than I originally suspected. So it may...

    amber active cornering enhancement light????

Alway worth saying where you are in your profile, then if anybody is close they might be able to help. For instance, if your near Bristol then I could see if there are any faults logged for you. Lots of other people can do the same, but only if they know where you are.

Removing top windscreen finisher (rubber) on a D2

So has anybody used Capt. Tolleys then, and how successful was it. From what they say on the site it looks like all you need to do is squirt it along the top of the rubber and let it creep in. Sounds easy, but is it as good / simple as that?

    2000 TD5 Cruise control

Its interesting that they fitted all the components to every car, just not the controls. I would have thought that by not fitting the bellows, pipes and pump they would have saved quite a bit in the build costs. Handy that they did fit it all though eh :)

Removing top windscreen finisher (rubber) on a D2

I had seen that mentioned before somewhere. Does that work without taking the rubber off then? or do I still need to take it off and just use it instead of the RTV?

Removing top windscreen finisher (rubber) on a D2

Having resealed my sun roofs last week I noticed a small leak from the windscreen, so added some RTV sealant to the area on the drivers side of the windscreen at the top. In todays heavy rain, I see it is leaking in the middle, or possibly the passenger side, maybe (probably) both :) It...

    air suspension fault code

I think it means the compress has been working too hard, so its been shutdown so it does not burn out. Most probably cause is a leak, check all connections with soapy water to see if there are any bubbles.

central locking on td5 series 2

There are 2 bits to the central locking. The normal lock unlock motor. And the deadlock motor (super lock). When you lock the car the deadlock comes on forcing the lock if it has not already happened. However on unlock, all it does is remove the deadlock, the other motor does the actual...

    Central Locking

My wife's D1 had the problem on the rear side door you mention. I took it apart and replaced a broken spring in the latch and all was well. I got the springs from eBay.
